North American PMCC unit's seem to have more issues than International ones…
Maybe since I haven;t had any single problem with my PMCC since the beginning (September, 2021). I’m charging at 32A, 380V.
cable is warm (and softer, so it’s easier to roll & store it), but i guess it’s below 25 degrees C.

For the US market, if you replace the cable to an earlier version the rating is higher and therefore doesn't overheat. You can run it at the full amperage. Being told to address it by lowering the charge doesn't sit well with me. It feels like being told not to press on the gas pedal so much if the engine stutters during take off.

Like I indicated earlier, Porsche has a way of fixing this but instead choose to pretend it doesn't exist. Why they would release this unit and then provide a cable that doesn't match the specs? Its poor QC and unfortunately adds it to the list or dysfunction in the roll out of the Taycan that they are just ironing out now (we hope) with s/w updates etc.

This issue, which remains a problem, could have so easily been addressed.
Thanks! Great analogy with the gas pedal. I hate it too and I just have been running it hot and hoping for the best. Is there a part number for the correctly rated cable that I can order on Suncoast?

I charged overnight, and by checking the charging graph the PMCC kept charging with no issues. So I think it doesn't overheat when charging, however it showed the overheating problem when the car is plugged in and not charging.
Maybe it's the CPU of the unit that's overheating? The PMCC is pretty closed from all sides, no cooling whatsoever to the internal components.

What is your garage temperature when charging? I have 3 phase setup too, and I can go up to 22kw (32A), but I usually charge at 6 to 16 amps.

It’s not closed garage….there are windows (without glass)…so, temperature is almost the same as outside.
