I have a question on Porsche Roadside assistance for anyone that had to use the service. I had an AC issue which made me a little nervous about taking the car on a 350m round trip but on speaking to my SA, he assured me that things should be OK, Basically AC temp is not cooling for a long time and when it does start to cool, it is definitely not cooling at close to capacity (yes, I am sure it is not on the ECO setting!)
On researching, a few people had mentioned that they had this issue due to a leak and they were told that below a certain level of refrigerant, the car might simply shut off. My SA assured me that there would be plenty of warnings before this happened.
Anyway, I asked him about calling Porsche Roadside and obviously I would not want to leave the car far from home. He said that although the terms have a distance maximum (I looked online and it says 50m), he thinks that since Roadside is a third party, they will probably deliver the car to dealer of choice, within reason.
Curious, does anyone have practical experience of this and were they successful in getting the car towed more than 50 miles to their home dealer? Also, assume that roadside will also give you a ride with them or do you need to find your own way back?
Thanks for any input.
