Hello,
Yesterday I had an odd experience for the first time with my 2023 4S. I’ve searched the forum and found a few others who have reported something similar back in 2022, but not much explanation of how they were resolved. Has anyone else experienced the following:
Got in the car, with my normal key I use regularly
Car insisted I choose user, gave me the option of guest or choose user (normally this doesn’t happen of course)
Attempted to choose user. I could see both my user name and my wife’s user name on the list, but both were greyed-out and not possible to select.
We shut down, got out of the car, locked it, unlocked it, got back in, same condition.
we were in a rush, so we just chose Guest so we could go.
while driving, the Porsche nav would allow us to choose an address manually, but would then not navigate.
The HVAC controls were not available, so we couldn’t turn on the AC. Many of the menu functions were just not available.
The car seemed to think it had zero charge, but it had 85%. And it drove, so it was ignoring the fact that it had zero charge.
The battery menu item would not come up, but the Nav system said the battery was zero.
When I started passing speed signs, the dashboard popped them up as it normally does, but it said they were red circle signs and put them in km/hr (like European speed signs). So I’d pass a 30mph sign and the car would say 30km/hr in a red circle.
I had the driving assistance features turned off, but once while driving, the car lightly hit the brakes on its own and told me to take control (and I had been steering, and it wasn’t a reaction condition that was necessary, I was just driving in a straight line with no one close in front of me)
once or twice the windshield wiper just did a sweep on its own then stopped.
so we drove an hour with no AC and these odd behaviors, and got where we were going. Got out, locked the car, went away for 20 minutes, came back, and it worked perfectly like none of this had ever happened. Recognized me, and all my normal settings came right back.
This was a bit disconcerting. Anyone experience this kind of thing?
