I don’t have it on mine but I kind of wish I specced it now as the conventional ones are pretty flimsy and I will, I suspect, manage to break one one day.

Haha no. For people saying it looks cool: f you think anyone is looking at you while you're plugging in your car, much less thinking you're cool, you're very mistaken.

They said the flaps look cool, not that having them makes you look cool….

I was 50/50.....
So if they had been a no cost option, I probably would have said yes.
But certainly not prepared to pay anything at all for them.

Thanks for everyone's input so I decided to ditch the power charge port doors, I will do largely most of my charging at home so concerns about the way they look while open or worrying about some stranger knocking them loose off my car are largely irrelevant.

In their place I optioned the heated Sport GT steering wheel and Vesuvius Grey ground effect inlays to match the Volcanic Grey paint job. ??

100% yes. Best feature, when i show off the car, I do a swipe and reckon that and the GPS suspension lift are the most cool and unique things about this car apart from the obvious

I think you're misconstruing what I mean by saying "it looks cool".

For me, the owner, the Powered Charge Port cover in action looks cool and has a futuristic feel to it.

I could not care less about other people looking at me while I'm plugging in my car or thinking I look cool. I bought the car for myself—not other people ?

I proudly save 600$ !
1OOOOmiles later... I had to get out of the car 100 times to close these f**** doors which I forgot to close
Just so I understand correctly, you saved $600 by getting the manual power port doors and now keep forgetting to close them?

Have you had a similar issue with remembering to close the fuel flap on ICE vehicles? I've owned ICE cars and trucks for 50 years and could count on one hand the number of times I've left a fuel door open. Personally, I don't see the difference so I'm hard wired to close the flap after "fueling". Still, sorry for your troubles.

FWIW, the early teslas you had to manually close the charge port door, the model 3 would close on it's own. I enjoyed not having to get out of the car every time I'd forget to close the door. so I would advise getting the power door on the taycan
