I take delivery of my TTS on Monday but not from a dealer as it’s being transported from a dealer out of state. Quick question. When I put the car in park am I able to just exit and lock the doors and walk away? Will the car power off after some period if I do that? Or do I need to hold in the power button first before exiting? If just exiting without holding power button works, what if I don’t lock the doors (i.e., I’m in my garage)? Does it then still power off? Thanks all.

My understanding is that the car will power off on it's own. The car will shut down if park mode and the parking brake are engaged and the vehicle is locked, according to the manual. It will also shut down on it's own after 30 minutes if not locked. But I've never tried doing either of those things.

I suppose it's the new normal to expect EV's to turn themselves off but I'm far too set in my ICE ways. I don't see the point in walking away from a vehicle and depending on it to turn itself off. I press and hold the button to extinguish the ignition....every time.

Thanks. I’ll probably be doing the same.

yes, the car should power down when you lock it however I always use the manual button to power the car down because I do not have faith in the wonkiness in the electrical/tech features of the car.
