PPF full vs partial hood

Anyone do a partial PPF on hood? It’s about $800 less. Something tells me I’d regret it for now going full, anyone happy with partial hood on Taycan? There’s part of me that thinks there is minimal ROI on PPF at all …

When we had a Panamera with no PPF, about 85%* of the marks were on the bumper and 15%* were on the hood. But the ones on the hood were all over.

We did full front PPF on the Taycan.

Makes sense, Taycan like Panamera has huge hood and super low , even more so …

Partial PPF just looks cheap. The edge will collect grime and will look very obvious after a few weeks.

Given that PPF is meant to protect the car invisibly, partial coverage (eg front bra only) is pointless in my opinion.

Full hood is better but for $800 more I think there is room for negotiation...

when doing any PPF you want full panels. no half stepping when it comes to PPF , you will hate the seam you see, especially when the dirt latches on.

I put a half hood on my M4. While it did the job and honestly wasn't too visible, it was still visible and drove me nuts. I ALWAYS regretted not covering the whole thing, both for protection and looks. 100% I'll always do a full hood.

On my macan I have frontal PPF (hood, front, fenders and a pillars).

On the Cayenne and Taycan I’d did full PPF; seemed like a small price given both of those cars were wrong side of 200k.

My Cayman also had full PPF (being a smaller car wasn’t that expensive).

In my mind, partial hood looks terrible; PPF place I use tried to wrap all edges.

Depending on color of car, you may also want to think about paint fade. The paint under the PPF will not fade and you might end up with a color mismatch.

I had small paint chip damage on the roof and rear quarter panel on my R8. Them rocks find ways to get everywhere . I’m doing PPF on entire car.

Question is, have you had any of your past cars with a partial hood PPF? If so, did it bother you to seeing the PPF line on the hood? If not, then go with it.
My past cars had partial Hood and it never bothered me to see that line. I rather see that line then a bunch of rock chips. With that being said I currently have a Partial Hood PPF on my White 4s and I'm very happy with it.

Just look at the factory-standard piece of PPF ahead of the rear arches then imagine it in a really prominent location.

Yikes... how is half hood PPF $800 more? Whats the cost for half and full?
I had a car with half and it looked like crap but comparison.
