Hello Taycan enthusiasts,

I was driving around today, parking in various "tight squeezes" next to curbs and such....one stretch of my driving was through a bit of a pebbley debris field, and I started wondering.....would Paint Protective Film, be a good idea on the Mission E wheels? I had my rims painted to match the body paint, and I wonder if PPF would help them with the rock strikes and such that I would encounter on the roads.

I dont think PPF would help with "curb rash", but it may minimize the damage some.

Just a thought...has anyone else considered doing this?

I thought about this in exactly the way you describe when I had my entire car PPF'd and ceramic'd. I asked the owner of the shop, Eclipse Window Tinting (incredible place and quality), and he said it wasn't a good idea because of the heat that can be generated by the brakes. Plus it's quite difficult to cut/place the pieces, and you won't be able to do the spokes. I went with just the ceramic, and after 3 years and 30,000+ miles the wheels still look like new. No significant chips on the spokes or the rims.

Fantastic, thank you for the response.

I know that “my experience may vary”, but it’s good to know that the rims have held up.
Thank you.
