Hi all, about to take the delivery next week.wondering anyone has been offered discount or price reduction, or it is normal to pay the full amount according to the spec.guess it is not much bargaining advantage for us due to the supply/demand from Porsche.
Did you not sign a contract before the freeze date? Or is this someone else's cancelled build or dealer spec car?

yeah some dealers do like in my case, because Bose was not available and I insisted on better audio than standard or super expensive burmester
Did you have it installed it in dealer after your received your car ?did you pay for it?

i did sign the contract and the car was built according to my own spec

Then you probably not in a great position to negotiate, since if you walk away you will lose your deposit (potentially could be sued for more, but I don't know the laws in your jurisdiction). One approach could be playing on their sympathy and wanting to keep a customer happy - see if they can throw in something to compensate for any delays you have experienced (if you did) or perhaps give you some good-will credit if your trade-in dropped a bunch while waiting.

Personally I believe in honoring contracts and any customer who would try to reneg like this I would avoid doing business with. Imagine it was the opposite, your car arrives, the dealer comes to you and says "I have a client who will pay me 30K more for that car, match it or we give you your deposit back", would want to order again from that dealer? Something like this happened to me once, the dealer reneged on the deal and all I got was my deposit back. Never bought another car from that family of dealers again, nor serviced any cars there.

And what did they install?
i am also curious about it as i had upgrade options in my spec, then been told its not availbale, so i had to live it with standard stereo which is a bit of shame.

If you're a repeat customer of several new models then you should ask. If first vehicle from this dealer I wouldn't expect any discount. I wrote a little "essay" email and mentioned how many people I had referred to buy vehicles at the store and how many more referrals would come from this model. I live directly in their market area. Received 25% off of margin. This was during the long wait period after ordering.
For some popular Ferrari models you may not be able to even order one unless you bought previous cars from Ferrari.
