Recent experiences with PEC LA Delivery?

Anyone have recent experience with PEC LA? I have a build that is getting locked in two weeks from a dealer on the east coast (I'm in SF) and I was planning on having the pickup at PEC LA vs. having the dealer ship the car to me. but they are telling me that I need to be okay with a significant delay (apparently the last PEC LA delivery they did was delayed by 3 months? SA telling me he can't make any estimates on delivery time for PEC LA

I cancelled my PECLA delivery in January because it was going to push delivery of the car out 4-6 weeks and I could barely stand the wait as it was.

Atlanta PEC pushed me out 3 weeks - although they told me it would be more like 8 weeks.

Worth every day wait and every extra cents in my opinion. Would 100% do it again.
They made me feel like a king!

Couple of weeks I can do but a couple of months would be ridiculous. What was the reason they gave you for the delay? understand these guys only do 2 deliveries a day and are only open Tuesday - Saturday but given the current production delays, I figured they don't have the usual volume of deliveries...

Picked mine up Late January at LA. Only did like 3 days per week and yes 2 cars per day. Also people were picking up other Porsche GT cars also.

PEC LA is amazing but it will delay you quite a while as they have limited spots each day and there is quite a backlog. I set it up last year (February) for my 911TTS. It was an epic day but it delayed me about 4 weeks and I set it up 8 months prior.

About a month from when car arrived at port to when could get a day at PEC LA.

Delivery was great enjoyed the day with my wife.

I live in LA and they still said PECLA would delay delivery by 4-6 weeks. So i skipped it. I think you can still go and play around on the track, which i plan to do at some point.

My PECLA delivery was last month. It was 4 weeks from arrival in Benicia and the experience is absolutely worth the wait. Hope this helps.

Here's another data point: My MY22 RWD is scheduled for production 6/10 and has an estimated PECLA arrival date of 8/26. PECLA sent me this:

Based on the planned production schedule of your vehicle, we will be able to schedule your delivery for mid to late September at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles, CA. Once your vehicle has completed production and is on a vessel, you will receive an email notification with your delivery date options based on the confirmed ETA of your vehicle and PEC availability.

Honestly, if it's a few weeks delay I will probably stick w/ the PECLA delivery. my SA was telling me it might be 2-3 months. If I don't do PECLA the east coast dealer will just end up shipping the car to me (which is more expensive vs. the PECLA delivery...) and I won't have any (even a shitty dealer delivery) experience

I regretted cancelling my PECLA delivery. Was also told 3 month wait but as soon as I cancelled, I learned another forum member got his delivery booked only 4 weeks out and we had similar ship dates. Seems to be the trend in previous posts as well.

I did PEC LA delivery in late April. Charles is the gentleman who coordinates all the deliveries and is great to work with. While they only do 2 deliveries a day, they are busier than ever due to west coast folks ordering cars from central and east coast dealers and getting them delivered at PECLA. Charles mentioned this to me. Especially with the mark ups from CA dealers. Right now they only do Taycan and GT3 deliveries.

Unless you're in a rush for the car, I'd try and wait as the experience is well worth the $500.

Thank you all for the insights. I called my SA today and told him to keep the PECLA delivery. He told me there is an option to reroute it to a dealer in either Texas or California if the wait for an appointment is too long so that at least made me feel a bit better.
