Hi, I just got a Taycan (first post) as well and experienced something similar. I already had a Tesla wall charger because I was initially planning to get a Tesla. When I first plugged it in, I also got a red light. The issue turned out to be the Tesla charger’s scheduled charging setting. I had to manually override it, and then the Taycan started charging.
Now, every time I plug it in, the red light stays on until midnight, when the Tesla charger’s schedule activates power.

It’s possible that your wall charger also has a setting or schedule enabled that’s causing the issue. Hope that helps.
Thanks for your feedback.
In my case it was the electricity suppliers app that was blocking the charging process. We had to remove the app, reinstall it and then set up the process again.
The wall charger was working fine, but being over-ridden by the electricity suppliers operation.

Golden rule guys is to NOT use any programming based on your EVSE if non-Porsche and ensure you are running it in 'dumb mode'. Even then, using 3rd part apps from OVO / Octopus for cheap rate must be configured and used appropriately (typically don't use Porsche Timers and / or Profiles which if configured incorrectly can clash).

From my perspective the golden rule is exactly the opposite - connection to the car via Porsche servers and mobile connection is too unreliable.

I have Octopus and a Zappi wallbox (installed by Octopus) which reliably charges at 7p/kWh, even outside the core cheap times. Octopus control the wallbox and I set the required charge using the app - actually I set more than required then let the car's general profile limit (usefully labelled "minimum"!) to 75%.

When I first got the Taycan I did experiment with Octopus controlling the car directly (with the wallbox in dumb, always-on mode) but very often the charge failed due to flaky connectivity with the car. Research on this forum suggests I'm far from alone.

I use OVO Charge Anytime (0.07p) for charging with my PMCC and is flawless.

Connectivity flawless (both Taycans I’ve owned).

If I want to preheat then I’ll use the Porsche App and set a Timer.

Most people have issues (this thread is one of many) when using their non-Porsche EVSE and programming either with Porsche or other.

Maybe it's just Octopus then; I have no experience with OVO.

I use a timer for preheat, too, without any charging.
