Hey guys! I'm selling my Taycan and just making sure I have everything ready for the new owner. Any quick guides on how to factory-reset the PCM? Anything else that I should do?

Last walk around video of my car pre-sale; still a beauty even after 3.5 years!

Make sure you separately wipe Homelink if you had that set up. Also manually erase your home address from the nav, if stored.

Factory reset on the PCM - just follow the instructions.

My Porsche - delete the car from your account.

Congrats on the sale. Whoever is making the purchase is getting the best color ever offered on the Taycan. Usual disclaimer: my opinion is highly biased.

100%. I was considering another Taycan, but didn't like any of the colors as much as the one I have now. I was about to list it on cars & bids, but found a buyer on 6speed forum last second surprisingly. The color definitely made it a little bit trickier to sell though :)

Out of interest, if you do the factory reset, does it also remove the updates etc it's received?

Or does it basically remove your personal info, but keep the system in its latest state (map updates etc)?

I may be selling mine very shortly, so this is all useful to know.

I don't think it will roll back the updates, but I'll let you know once I do it :)

I don't believe it dies revert as that would be a nightmare.

Check with your dealer.

I would just remove my id and delete from My Porsche to break the link.

I'm sure Porsche would match your color of choice under PTS+ for a new Taycan.

Oh yes, for sure, but at a huge cost that's hard to recover (especially if you only keep cars 2 years or so).
True, though any Taycan Turbo price range luxury sedan will cost you a bundle to drive only 2 years. Is PTS+ treated differently than other options when it comes to lease residual values? If not, you'll recover whatever percentage of the cost the other options recover, if you lease the car (which is not a bad options if you want it for only 2 years).

Hearing the "it's not a common/standard color so we don't know how long it will take to sell" from dealerships now as I try to trade-in my green Taycan makes it sound like PTS cost will not only be not recoverable at selling, but can make it even harder to sell. Let's see how the auction goes - the buyer I was expecting couldn't come up with the funds, so I'm going to list it on cars and bids.

Does that mean that the dealer adjusts the lease residual value based on how they judge the desirability of the car? I thought the residual value was set by the lessor bank/org, and they just have a formula for that.

Sorry to hear that. I've been there. Good luck with the auction. Given the economic outlook, perhaps consider leasing the next car so you don't have to deal with this in 2 years.
