https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2022/MC-10208593-0001.pdf is from 2021 and did not change with the model years 20-23

the optional Sport sound ECU can be exchanged with the AVAS??? I doubt that very much.

afaik both are built in:
9J1035446 I-Sound MLB Evo
9J1035335 E-Sound MLB Evo (VAG shared part 3F0 035 335)
Wait... In the retrofit guide they point to the 9J1035446 I-Sound MLB Evo device. But this one is the I sound - the speaker in the windshield controller and not the rear external speaker controller: Note the bold text

Address A9: Struct. Borne Sound (SG) Labels:* None
Part No SW: 9J1 035 446 E HW: 9J1 035 446
Component: H03 0290
Serial number: EN200446910000
Coding: D5
Shop #: WSC 86418 264 00000
ASAM Dataset: EV_ActuaForIntNoise 003008
ROD: EV_ActuaForIntNoise.rod
VCID: 2F3A12C3379E04234E9-807A

According to VCDS athe external speaker controller is 9J1035335:

Address C0: Act. for Ext. Noise (-----) Labels:* None
Part No SW: 9J1 035 335 F HW: 3F0 035 335
Component: E_SOUND_SGH07 0100

Coding: C5

ASAM Dataset: EV_ESoundMLBEvoS1NN 003008
ROD: EV_ESoundMLBEvoS1NN.rod
VCID: 2D0608CB3D9276337C5-8078

Which device is which? In the schematic here which device is the one on the right (J1167 .1) - the 9J1 035 335 or 9J1 035 446?

Ok so my analysis is that the module coming with the retrofit package is NOT the one that controls the big speaker on the outside. It is only for the small speakers inside. The big one is conected to the module in the left and those are the two modules that are on the schematics above.

I have managed to make the Sport Sound module work with my second car - a Model 3 Performance. I had to create a custom Arduino based module that will translate Tesla CAN signals to the Porsche network format and send all required messages to the Taycan E-Sound module. Also I made custom speakers with huge boxes and mounted them behind the rear bumper. Here is a video with the result:

Would you share the Arduino code?
