I just got my car back from the dealer for warrantee work. This was the 4th time they had the car to fix the same two issues - a rear window brake light problem, and a "WBA Error". This time they finally were able to fix the brake light issue, but not the WBA error. It will have to go back again for that. Frustrating. To fix the brake light error they had to replace the rear window. I had had my windows tinted, and they will not cover the cost to re-tint the rear window. And I'd actually had the windows ceramic coated as well. What do you think? I can kind of see their side of this, but I still think they should pay the cost to get the car back to where it was. Especially since they could have/should have realized the window needed to be replaced before I'd had it tinted.

They are getting the car back to where it was when you bought it, not after you changed it.

I think the dealer is correct, but can always ask for some good will discount on something else, but I wouldn't feel bad if they said no.

I disagree... My view is that if it’s a Warranty issue, the vehicle should be returned to you in the same specification. If the fault wasn’t there you wouldn’t be expecting anything.

The fact that the fault exists is not your responsibility. The car should be restored to it’s pre Warranty state in the same way as it would after an accident.

Sorry, but this is a risk you take modifying your car. And yes, tinting & ceramic are modifications.

Warranty covers replacing OEM parts with OEM parts & dealer labor, period.

There's no wiggle room here. You're responsible for modifications, Porsche is responsible for OEM.
