Still getting to know the car, but I’m having issues with Sirius XM every other time I get in the car.

I’ve set both FM stations and XM on my favorites list. But half the time the XM won’t play until I exit favorites and go to Sirius XM. And every time it won’t play and I do that, it has this same pop up saying “Welcome! You can use your premium subscription now.” I have to click “listen now” and then it works.

Am I going to have to do this every time? Does XM not really work with favorites?

I pay for it and transferred my subscription from another car. I bought this 2024 used.

This all looks odd, so this shows me that you are on a trial, which still should work normally.
XM supports Favorite Station list which would be under a Star tile.

That’s the thing, it shouldn’t be a trial. I’ve paid for XM for at least 15 years and transferred the membership. Maybe the dealer automatically added a trial or something? Even so I shouldn’t have to keep hitting “listen now.”

edit- I logged in again and my SiriusXM said this online-

Your plans
Music & Entertainment Advantage 25
$8.49/mo. plus tax resuming 2/15/26

This plan will restart on 2/15/26 after your Platinum trial ends.”

So definitely on the trial.

There is definitely some conflict. I would log into XM and verify your Radio ID matches your Taycan and then you can initiate a signal refresh from their website to the car. This is what I would do.

I did. In fact I had to do the signal refresh at first to get it to work at all.

It’s the pop up to agree that’s causing the issues. Hopefully it’ll go away.

I do also get that “your Sirius XM subscription has been updated” message but it seems like that’s normal around these parts.

Regarding the " your Sirius XM subscription has been updated " error, I have been experiencing this since I bought the car - 3 years ago.

I recently got my dealer/service center to fix this issue, and the fix appears to be rather complex. Here is the text of what they reported.

"23008 Started the vehicle to bring it into the shop and Sirius XM
"Subscription has changed'' Notification came up on the PCM central
display. Selected the "OK" button. Cycled the key and locked the
vehicle, then re-started to bring it into the shop and the message
appeared again. Once in the shop I connected the PIWIS IV tester and
found at the integration test that there is a connect high update.
Update will need to be performed and then the OTA control unit
programmed and reset performed followed by a back-end function release
and a complete vehicle coding to correct the issue. 1 .75 Re-programmed
the connect high control unit, and t he Over-The -Air control unit, then
reset the Over-The-Air control unit. Performed the back-end function
release, then followed that with a complete vehicle coding. Allowed the
vehicle to sleep, then performed bus idle and then test drove the
vehicle Returned to the shop and cleared and reset fault memories and
created an after VAL and then verified PCM function. Sirius XM warning
no longer comes up and the vehicle is now okay."

I don't understand what much of these terms mean, but, after three years of this issue, it is indeed resolved. Also, I can't say with certainty, but the PCM seems like it is slightly more responsive, in particular, no lengthy delay when starting-up - which was another ongoing problem I had experienced.
Maybe this will be of help to anyone else hoping to fix the same issue.
