I have had my GTS sedan for several weeks now -- great car!! Every time a pass a radar based speed detector on the road, my speedometer appears to be off by 2-3 mph (my car's indicated velocity is higher than the radar).

Anyone else note the same?

I saw this yesterday. He mentioned at 70mph always about 1 mph higher on speedometer. As mentioned by Skilly looks to be on purpose.

"most speedometers are designed to read slightly high. European regulations in particular allow most cars to display 10 percent plus 6 kilometers per hour (3.7 mph) above actual speed, but those same regulations do not allow for the reporting of a speed lower than the car is actually traveling"

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/car-accessories/a32026968/are-speedometers-accurate/#:~:text=Because that measurement changes continuously,of the wheel and ground.
Thanks. appreciate the info.

Mine is also was 2-3 mph faster than the actual speed, but my 991.1 C2S was 99% accurate so not sure why Porsche is not consistent with the different models.

Ever since it has been available I have been calibrating my car's speedometer against GPS and 10% fast is fairly typical so I travel an indicated 33mph in 30 limits an 77mph in 70 limits and GPS confirms I am within 1mph or so of the speed limit.
These are all UK spec cars.

The other aspect to this issue is the vehicle's warranty is completed with the actual mileage being lower than the warranty contract, assuming that the mileage limit is reached before the time limit. This assumes that the speedometer is linked to the odometer (which has been the case in all the previous cars I have owned).

speedo display and mileage are NOT correlating btw!
to get an idea of the taycans true speed: activate cruise control for a constant speed on a free highway and then reset the trip computer and watch the avg. speed of the display. It's close to the true GPS speed.

in europe the deviation is of course regulated :)
