Hi greetings all, recently got a Taycan Singapore.

1. Is it safe to always drive on Regular Height? Do not wish to scratch the front or rear.
Not sure why but the Taycan CT has a height mode called High, but Taycan only as Low, lowered, regular, lift.

2. Is there a way to limit charging to 90%? I’m guessing the logic is the same we charge our laptop to 90% only to prevent over charging. Does it apply to cars?

3. Not sure why the Taycan Map is not really as nice as the Apple CarPlay Google maps. And my taycan map takes Very long to load.

4. Is it worth to join the Porsche club in SG?

5. any general tips and tricks for a newbie please

thank you!

Hi,

Normal ride height is perfectly fine for most use cases.

Raise the car either manually or automatically (SmartLift) when traversing speed bumps or steep driveway entries.

CT is a softroader and so has the Gravel drive mode, 20mm additional ride height clearance on Normal height.

Charging - read the forum and / or owners manual as it covered in detail there.

85% is the recommended standard max charge for regular daily charging.

Maps are fine and better when the satellite layer is switched on. Performance is typically very good but is dependent on a decent cell connection. Rely on NAV / PIRM for planning charging stops if preheating the battery is needed (DC charging only).

Enjoy!

Thanks a bunch mate. Could I ask if you’re in Singapore as well?

Hi W1inge,
Although not a new member (have had my Taycan CT 4S for a year now) I have never heard before about the 'satellite layer" being switched on. How do I know if it is/how can I switch it on?

Thanks

Back to this: " 2. Is there a way to limit charging to 90%?"
Not if you are fast charging. It will charge to 100% or until you stop it. For Level 2 charging, set the General profile slider to 85%, select Optimized Charging, and confirm. Turn off all Timers, if any. Turn off direct charging. Then it will stop at 85%. 90% is a little high unless you are driving right after charging.

The map display has 2 layers - 3d map and satellite. Press the layer button at the middle right edge of the screen when the map is displayed to toggle the views.

I'm duty bound to also add that a timer should be added to control the end time - profiles on their own just don't work for me (and many others).

By all means try without.

Optimised timing only comes into play if using dual power source - grid and solar (requires a HEM too).

The optimised charging can be used as a work around so that you only need a profile without a timer and if set to 85% it will stop there - this has been documented many times.

Hi all, I realise when I search for location on the map is always Russia location.

I’m in Singapore and while I understand there a concept of Parallel Import where car is purchased overseas and brought into Singapore hence overall still cheaper than buying from SG directly

but how do I change the map back to SG?
