Subtle "lunging" behavior at stoplight.

I think its from the transition from regenetative braking to regular braking. Essentially the motors stop providing resistance but because you're at low speed, it's subtle. It's also why you can roll forward or backwards at lights and stop signs on inclines. Theres no resistance when stopped (although double pumping your brake activates HOLD).
It's a behavior to learn and adjust for. Nothing's broken.

No- it's when the car is stopped when it happens, and has been stopped for some time. It's not transitioning from anything when it happens.
If you felt it you would know its something that shouldn't be happening.

I have noticed when stopped if the car is not in HOLD mode I can feel the rear motor applying and stopping torque output based on how hard or lightly I am pressing the brake pedal. I can very easily feel it going on and off by altering the pressure on the brake pedal. Is that what you're describing, because your description seems very similar to that sensation?

I experienced this for the first time today. When we first got the car my wife said this was happening but I either haven't noticed it or for some reason it wasn't happening to me until today. My experience was the similar to what @Benji_OOS describes, it's kind of like a pulsing when you are stationary with your foot on the brake pedal but stops once you put the car in to hold mode. Wouldn't like to say whether this is actually a fault with the car that can be fixed or just a 'feature' of electric motors. It doesn't bother me enough to make me want to take it to the dealer to look at it so I think I'll just live with it

It is definitely the motor turning on and off to allow for the vehicle to creep forward when you start to let off the brake. They do this to save power when the brakes are held hard enough there is no reason to waste a few watts pushing forwards, better to wait for the brake pedal pressure to go down indicating the driver might move forward soon. I personally wish there was a setting to turn off the creep forward function as I don't like my EVs to behave that way.
