Supercharger V 4

Short trip to Germany. Booked a hotel with lots of 22 kw charger to charger over night. I knew it also had 8 Tesla SC. On arrival I saw they were V4 and of course had to try. It was actually cheaper per kWh than the 22 kw alternative.

arrived with 50 % SoC and 30 Celsius battery temp. Max was 150 kw quickly going down to 100. 35 kWh in 22 minutes. Average speed around 100 kw but suboptimal charging conditions. No problem however because I charged while checking

connecting was easy with the longer cable. Compared to Ionity it is much lighter. And the length is much better.

had some issues because the app wanted me to enter a US adre with city and postal code. Beverlyhills street 1 in Beverlyhills 90210 CA did the trick and it started charging (only postal code I could immediately come up with ?). My address is still my Belgian one. I didn’t see any credit card readers by the way. Will check tomorrow.

good tip when someone needs an overnight stay in NL. Van Der Valk hotels have lots of 22 kw chargers. I think at least 10 maybe even 20 and often also Tesla.

BTW, a couple of years ago I ran into a German VW exec in California trying to put gas in his car and he was very confused by the zip code question he was asked at the fuel pump
