And one footnote. After a very long time, Porsche Colchester replied with an idential quote: "The 60000 mile service is £366.58 inc VAT." So at least some of them have the same prices!

Can’t believe THEY expect you to pay the same, or more, than their ICE vehicles for ‘service’ despite the absence of most ‘service bits’

Quick update. Taycan 4S now back from its 60K miles service. As expected nothing needed doing. After 60K miles the brake pads are 15% worn at front and 30% worn at rear. Certainly no need of replacement! They were fine not renewing the brake fluid given it had just been refreshed with new hoses. And the cost? Amazingly, cheaper than quoted: £352.03. It's still a rip off for what was basically a new filter, a clean, and a reset of the service data. But less of a rip off than that initial quote...
Although now that I look at the breakdown of cost - £5 for Winter window cleaner. £68.93 for dust and pollen filter. £77.59 for tyre sealant. Holy crap.

These are all easy do it yourself for much cheaper.

Windshield fluid
Cabin Filter is a 15 min replace
Tyre Sealant is nothing special

Hi Peter, it’s been an interesting read of your experience. As another relatively new Taycan owner not far off (my first) service at 4yrs/40k. As I was ready through the various quote posts I was going to suggest getting a quote from Colchester as they seem to be fairly priced for what I keep reading. Glad you were able to get a somewhat fair deal in the end. Interesting about the age related pad change recommendation. What brake package do you have? I have the coated brake setup and it got my wondering if it’s something to do with the coating affects the effectiveness of the pad??

Re not taking a warranty, I have the porsche approved warranty on mine until Aug 26. So far, my experience compared to 10yrs in BMW M cars under warranty, is that everything with Porsche so far seems to have to be a battle and negotiation. I have been especially annoyed by the noises clause of ‘it’s not covered unless it affects the material function of the vehicle’. Such a get out of jail card for so many things that basically says to me parts/construction is not the high quality I thought Porsche would be. I’ve successfully won one battle to get one thing done (happening as we speak) and now having to fight on two other issues. It shouldn’t be like this surely??

Mine was 60K service - equivalent to 6 years, except it's 4 years old. They want to do new brake fluid every 2 years, new pads every 6. I did neither (just had fluid renewed during the hose recall anyway, and the brakes are just not used much being an electric car with regen - confirmed by Porsche in their own measurements of wear). The issue is that most of us want that Porsche stamp in the service book so we can show it's got a full service history. We also don't want the car complaining on startup every time about servicing. Very hard to get those without paying hundreds for something...

My car has been with Porsche every 3/4 months for all the recalls (or to fix one bad software update/heater install with a lot of testing and *lots* more updates...). Given the huge amount of attention and testing I've already had for free, I just can't see the point of the warranty right now as they don't cover wear and tear, and the battery is covered anyway for 8 years.

Don’t Tesla have a lifetime guarantee on their brakes due to lack of use from regen?

I know brake fluid is hygroscopic, but it is a closed circuit. So where does the water come from? Never understood that… one of life’s mysteries!
