Excuse what's probably a silly question, but I have just traded my 2020 4S in for a 2022 Turbo S. I had a Taycan Charging Card for the 4S - do I get one for the Turbo S? I have signed up for the Porsche Charging Service for the new car. I wasn't sure if the connection to IONITY and Porsche chargers were automatic when you drive up to them for MY 2021 and on cars?

Might be different in UK; but in US we apparently just use the charging app now (or plug & charge). I asked my SA similar question last week.

Thank you. I should have noted this was a UK car, so I have amended the thread title. I have asked my dealer too and await their reply.

I think you'll need a new card. I'm in a similar position. I have a 4S and have replaced it with a CT4. I tried the 4S card at IONITY last week and it didn't work because my credit card had been replaced. I tried updating the card details on my porsche but the card seems to be tied to the car and I had to order a new card which hasn't arrived yet.

I expect my old card would have worked if the credit card was still valid but there wouldn't be a way to update cards details and see charging records.

I'll wait and see if the card arrives in a few days.

I can't comment on the plug and charge or app authentication because I can't login to my car just now due to the MY22 issue

Thanks Peter. I won’t need to charge the car en-route until the end of this month, so I’ll see if a new charging card arrives. If it doesn’t, I’ll try the one from my 4S.

Sorry to hear you’re having login issues. I hope you’re enjoying the CT4 nonetheless.

Interesting. I stopped at IONITY Peterborough today. I tried to use the Porsche Charge Card that I received with my previous Taycan (2020 4S) and the charger rejected it - said something about not being auathorised.

I was about the unplug the car (MY 2022), but a 'start charge' message then appeared on screen, so I pressed it and the charging started.

I asked my dealer about this last week, and they said I could use the old card.

I haven't received a new card.

I'll try again next week (without using the card) and see if the charging starts just by virtue of the car being there.

Interesting indeed. I haven't received a new card after registering my new CT. But when I tried to charge it at Ionity and it didn't work, I hadn't registered the car for charging so the network wouldn't know about the car.

If only I had the car to try it. It's been back at the dealer for the last 10 days, for the third time now, trying to sort out various MY22 issues.

I’m sorry to hear that. Dare I ask what the problems are?

Various, need to go through setup screen everytime I use the car, back wiper not touching the rear screen, can't login to the PCM as menus missing, charging stops after 7 mins, carplay drop outs,.

A bit like a 1980's skoda :) Except it cost £100K

I think Porsche will be in trouble unless they sort out their software process.

That’s not good. I hope they get it sorted for you.

Just to confirm, that as long as you activate the plug and charge option in the PCM (charging screen then options), I didn't need a charging card to start charging - it started automatically.

After all of that, a new charging card arrived in the post today (42 days after delivery).

Mine arrived today too. They must have a monthly batch job :)

I plugged in at Ionity Perth this week and it didn't plug and charge. Had to scan the QR code. Can't find the plug and charge setting on a quick scan of the PCM.
