20 Years no claims, no points, pass plus etc, garage kept, paying £1600 p/a

When I got the car in 2021 I was paying £700 pa then it shot up the next year for no reason.

I'm 53, full NCD, a couple of speeding tickets (one current) and mine's 1.1k with a 900xs.

That’s a bargain, the lowest quote I had a couple of months ago was for about £1700; ended up with Porsche Insurance for a little more (just over £2000 but for a better coverage). Clean license, 14 years NCD, very safe neighbourhood!

I have Geico. No tickets or accidents on record and am at about $1,400 per year. That premium was priced last February, my renewal month.

Yeah, USAA has to pony up the money for Gronk. GEICO just needs to pay a gecko, who is probably paid in crickets and worms. Although, the gecko does have a smooth proper English accent, so the pay probably leans more heavily on the crickets side. Everyone knows crickets are worth more than worms, and the gecko ain’t no sucka.

For those in the UK, the general situation has been caused by rising repair costs (worse for EVs).

Insurers have been paying out 110% of premiums in repairs.

So I assume at the moment they are firefighting and just loading premiums, especially EVs.
