I’m new to this great forum as I am finally going to receive my MY21 RWD CPO Taycan next week!

It’s done circa. 15k miles and has the basic options that I’ve wanted /need, power steering, aero wheels, reverse camera, 150KW on board charger. I’m just in love with the aesthetics of the car. I’m a city driver and will only drive on motorways an average of 5 times a year - if that. I previously had a 4 series so I think I can handle the size.
I’ve done my research on this forum and ensured I’m getting the warranty and asked questions about the OTA, recalls and battery life warranty.

My question before I give a paw print, is, if there any major potential maintenance costs I should be aware of. I’m stepping outside my comfort zone on buying this car and just want to make an informed decision having the benefit of experience from yourselves. Also do I really need to opt for Swiss vax on a solid black??

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to here and congrats on the new car.

Here's my tuppence worth:

  • Service. Has it already had its two year service? If not, get the seller to include it in the price. Next service is another two years away.
  • Tyres. What are the condition of the tyres? Have they already been replaced? If not, I'd be asking the seller to provide new shoes as the ones on the car could be near their end of life. Worth checking.
  • Updates. Confirm with the seller that all available updates have been done. It's also worth checking what, if anything, has been replaced/repaired under warranty etc.
You've done your research so the above may be old news but always worth checking just in case. There will be other recommendations by more knowledgeable folk on here to come. Hope all goes well. You won't be disappointed with the car.

In addition to what's posted above....

If everything works, long term maintenance should be cheaper than your 4 series as EVs are simpler.

And if anything does go wrong you have the warranty to cover it.
Consider £100pm to extend the warranty after it runs out (which I will definitely be doing) as if something goes wrong in a Taycan, it's often expensive.

The servicing costs vary greatly between dealers. There is a separate thread on this in the UK section.

Size will be fine. I had an M2 prior - so a 4 Series owner will find it am easy transition.
