Hello there

Just placed order for RWD. So looking forward to having an electrified Porsche.

coming from Maserati. Let’s see how the Taycan is. Test driven twice. Blown away by the electric drive - smooth, rapid and silent. The Porsche fit and finish is excellent.

My daily commute is 80 miles. Plan to have home charger. Work has several AC chargers all free for employees. Am usually at work for 8-10 hours. So did not opt for bigger battery

Options- Gentian blue, chalk beige interior. 360 parking camera, blind spot monitor, PDLS led headlights. Folding mirrors, Driver seat memory, Panoramic roof, upgraded alloys, wheel centre with full colour crest, ambient lighting, Bose sound.

Clearly spec for safety and luxury. Am not going to drive like junior Lewis Hamilton ! Also configured with a budget in mind.

expected delivery in June 2023. Can’t wait. Thanks

Grats. Similar spec to me. I also got the HUD (which for me is a must have), seat heating and 4+1 for Dad kids' and mates taxi service. Why don't you post your build link so we can have a good ol' gander?

The dealer said the 4+1 is a must have for used prices as although it's small its got the option...share your build too buddy!

Personally, I wouldn't want a car with the 4+1 seats - as we dont have kids.
And I certainly wouldn't want to be a passenger on that middle bench.

So not sure how much it will be preferable on a used Taycan Saloon.

Interested to hear what others think.

Ps Welcome OP!
Whereabouts are you from?

Congrats.
I think you have spec about right if you're keeping to a budget. You will love the car.....and yes no need for bigger battery

When I was originally speccing up mine (for the first time!) I asked the dealer what were the key 'must haves' to make the car a desirable buy back/resale item and 4+1 seat was one of those items.

For the minimal cost I would add, noting that between now and when you have to 'lock-in' your final build spec I can guarantee that you will change/add something far more expensive :)

Nor do we but its a cheap option and will help resell to someone who thinks the seat is actually usuable!! :)

I will of course never use but it's there!

Congrats! June 23 is quick too, my RWD order (placed last month) had an expected delivery date of Oct/Nov 23 so you've been lucky

I very occasionally take grandchildren somewhere. My current car is a 4 seater and sometimes that means I can't help out so I have optioned the extra seatbelt, I am sure it will be fine for 7 to 12 year olds and adds an extra fold down option for the seat back.
It seemed one of the better value options to me.

I don't get the problem with 4+1. You still get cup holders and a big arm if you don't need the +1. Does depend on if you work for Dad cabs and taxi the kids and/ or their friends around. And if it adds to resale appeal. Ultimately it doesn't matter as you can run it as 2 plus cup holder in the back if you want and unlike Porsche options actually reasonable. There is no car that seats 3 adults in the back comfortably. It's a binary call for kids (up to late teenagers age and resale appeal) or not. "I love sitting in the middle seat" Said no one ever.

Hi. I almost always drive alone. Kids are working and overseas. Will never use 4-1. I agree though that is not very expensive. Might add this. Thanks

I added for the convenience of the middle seat folding down on its own. handy for long items without having to fold half the back down, so you could get 2 passengers plus a long item through the middle

I would advise to reconsider the bigger battery. Porsche advises that you charge to 85% so that already drops your range. Then if you consider getting bigger wheels, the range will drop again. Battery degradation overtime will also drop your range. When it comes time to sell the car, buyers will be concerned about the 160 mile practical range. Bigger battery is much more important for resale than 2+1 seats. Most Taycan buyers have a second car for family transport and that middle seat is useless.
