Hello.

We currently have the Macan with two child seats.

I’m interested in getting a Taycan but would like to know if it’s possible to have 3 car seats. Ages: 4, 7 and new born.

Any advise would be great!

Pretty sure you'll struggle. The middle seat is pretty narrow. Won't have isofix either. However, i haven't tried.

physically it's possible, just keep in mind you'll need narrower seat bottom in the center seat. The challenge with mounting a kids seat in many middle row cars/SUVs is that center seat does not have a LATCH/ISOFIX anchors which requires you to use the center belt.

My kids will use the center seat occasionally when an adult needs to sit in the rear. I find that the center seat has the right height for a 8-12 year old without the need for a booster.

Don’t think you will fit three car seats in it. Mine has a forward facing and rear facing in it and don’t see how a third would fit. My wife is very tiny and can’t fit between the two. I also have relatively small car seats not some of these behemoths that are out there.

If you leave the wife at home and put the 7yo on the right seat, should work. Not sure the wife will be happy tho` ?

I have 2 forward facing and a booster seat in the middle. 5yo twins and an 8yr old in the booster. A rear facing seat would be really tough. Also a cross/sport turismo offers a bit more headroom. The rear seat room is fairly small for the overall size of the car. Mine is not our primary family hauler just short trips to sports / activities when needed.

Have you looked at Multimac? Child Car Seats. You do need the 2+1 seats though.

(I only have 2 kids who are now out of seats, but heard these are very good).

For me, it would be a forward-facing booster seat for the 8 year old in the middle, forward facing high back booster for thr 5 year old and then an infant car seat. The 8 year old is quite small and very slim and has sat in the tray seat before in the Macan, which has a seat belt for the middle.

Sounds like most people think that having three seats at the back will be a struggle.

If your expectation is to go on any kind of regular journey with 3 kids in the back, then imo this is the wrong car for you.

If this is just occasional/short duration and use and they will bear being uncomfortable for a bit then you may be OK.

With the current setup I have 11" - 12" between my child seats, a rear facing Upababy Mesa and a Clek Fllo which is known for fitting 3 across.

I will be replacing the rear facing seat when my new seat arrives in a few days. I can test if I can fit 3 across.

But I think your best chance might be two slim seats with a backless booster in the middle. Or 2 backless booster if your 5 year-old can fit safely in it.

Thanks for sharing this. I think three would be quite tight. However, our current seats are a bit bulky, so I think I'll check for some slim seats and see how that might work out. Would love to see your three-seat setup.
