Hi Guys,

My first post. I'm a long term porsche owner and fanboy. I've had my eye on the Taycan for a long time. I didnt order one during the pandemic as this were too unstable. Well I went for a demo in a Cross Turismo 4S Performance and I was blown away. So I've ordered one!

Delivery is a long way off, which is fine. So I have some time to play with the config. This led to my idea.

If you had £100k ($139k USD aprox) what spec of any Taycan would you go for?

Here is the spec I'm at: PNESTJP0

Interesting spec, I am also going with Mamba Green and have played around with thousands of permutations on the configurator.

From what I have read here over the last month or so people recommended needing the surround view if your going with mission e wheels due to more chance of kerbing them. Also RWS is highly recommended, personally on a 4S I wouldn’t bother with sports chrono. Bose sound is another I would place in the must have list.

Here is my shot at keeping it close to the 100k mark: http://www.porsche-code.com/PNY5J7S8

It's always fun to do these!!

My 2 cents is to do the packages: Performance Package, Premium Package, Technology Package. Comes to $134k. I left out the Porsche charger because you can get better one for less money from the many options listed on these boards. Have fun and enjoy!!

Pretty much the exact limit I put myself at

PNNNS3P0

I guess I could have opted for a stripper 4S but in the end I put my money into more interior goodies

Interesting that there is no Performance Package in the US. I wonder what the rationale is in offering different packages in different markets. You would think that this package would be offered in all.

You cant get any packages in the UK and the pan roof is not standard (I heard it is or was in the states).

Now i'm looking at porsche residuals.... for the options I've chose, many come as standard on the Turbo:

NO COST
Metallic Mettalic
Turbo Surface Coated Brakes
Full Leather
Performance Battery Plus
Sports Chrono

Cheaper options when optioned on the Turbo
mission E wheels
Dont need the porsche crest on headrests as it says turbo
Bose is free on turbo!

Residual on Turbo for my spec is £71,000 vs £56,000 for the 4S with performance battery.

So the monthly cost is almost identical!

Now I may have to swap my deposit over.... Damn it, I thought I was done being indecisive!

Sounds like your going through the same dilemma in settling on a version as I (and probably many others have).

Since placing my deposit down in May I have ordered in this order:

1. Taycan 4S
2. Taycan CT 4S
3. Taycan CT Turbo S
4. Taycan Turbo S
5. Taycan 4S

I noticed a pattern in that every weekend when bored I changed my mind…luckily the sales rep I deal with has a lot of patience!

Anyway having gone through the list above I know I will not be getting any of those models. I will be getting the GTS model which is all but confirmed to being released for order in November.

It has really tested my powers of patience but feel the GTS model will be something worth holding out for.

I’m sure whatever final decision you make you’ll not be disappointed.

Now that is interesting.

I went in asking to place and order for a GTS. The rep said they have heard nothing and he was adamant we wouldn't see a 2022 delivery. Hence my deposit on the 4S. The GTS would probably have a lot of my options already included so would be a similar price but a stronger residual.

He also said I can place a £1000 dealer deposit should one get announced. I might just go for that if you think Nov announcement is on the cards.

So I guess my next question is, if it's announced in Nov, when will the fist UK deliveries be....

There is a nice thread on the GTS model here: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/the-case-for-the-gts.5938/page-3#post-82850

In that thread someone posted they had been shown the screen with various info such as increased power and November order in Europe

My dealer here in UK has always been upfront with me and guaranteed it is 100 percent coming. I placed my deposit back in May and he has assured me I am number one on the list to get it when announced.

Just last week he contacted me saying it is due to be released for order in November so that’s two sources who have said the same thing. He’s predicting first quarter 2022 for delivery but to be honest I will wait it out regardless!

this is the thread i read before going in and putting the deposit down on the 4S. He said I can have a dealer based deposit on a GTS separately but i’d have to put another grand down. I think i’ll do it as i’ll kick myself come nov if it i get the lesser car.

i can move the cash i’ve already paid over to that GTS slot until a feb deadline so might be the smart move.
