I don't think it's been posted before....?
Interesting comparison of the 2 cars on a track, in stock form....
seems pretty spot on to me - Model is 1/2 the price but can do ok on the track - Taycan for 2 or 3x th price definately better - both cars will crap out after about 50 miles of track duty - and you need fast charging at the track.

Model 3 has a lot of room for improvement
Taycan is settled and drama free

Idk - I find my model 3 performance twitchy. Quick to 65 for sure but lags afterwards but the Turbo s is solid as a rock and can easily hit 100mph without blinking. Taycan all day everyday

The model 3 is very light so it accelerates quickly, like a go-kart.
My model Y (extended range with bigger battery) is heavier and feels much slower than the model 3.
The Taycan has much more weight then both the model 3 and Y. The fact that its slightly behind the model 3 shows the power of the Taycan motors.

Beat me to it. 2 different categories of vehicles. (vs. Model S is apples-apples)

M3P applies torque unfiltered to the wheels, whereas most other OEMs prefer "Lastschlagdämpfung" which saves drive shaft's lifes. This it what makes Tesla also feel very quick, but technically speeking it's only the (let me check the correct english naming)
"jerk, jolt (esp in British English), surge or lurch"
which is the derivative of acceleration with respect to time.
It makes your passengers head bang harder in the seat :)

Yeah, the 3.9s 0-100kph must be an old model. Mat Watson on carwow couldn't quite get the 3.1s 0-60 but was getting under 3.3s which is a bit faster than the 4s (he usually does quarter mile as well but didn't for this):

Long story (won't get into it here) but I currently own a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Perf and a 2021 Taycan 4s.

I watched this video last week, I follow that RS EV guy's channel on YouTube regularly.

FROM THE VIDEO: If you watch the split screen sequences carefully, notice how many times his passenger's head flops around and how many times she grabs (out of desperation) for SOMETHING to grasp while riding in the Tesla Model 3.

I bet if she was asked about it (maybe it was B-roll, never made it to the video) she would say the Model 3 almost made her knickers fly off. And not in a good way.

FROM MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: This is like comparing a Hoonigan's pimped Subaru WRX to a fine sports car. And I've been in a pimped WRX.

What I'm trying to say: it's no comparison. The Taycan (in any model / configuration) is a MUCH BETTER AUTOMOBILE.

Sure, I can mash the accelerator on my own Model 3 and blast through stretches of road -- but it scares the jeebies out of me.

Raw numbers don't tell the whole story.

I actually drive MORE carefully and cautiously in the Model 3 because it does not have the safe and predictable handling qualities of the Taycan.

I'm actually selling the Model 3. Can't stand it. The Taycan wins on all counts, and I own both bloody cars as I'm writing this. Here's the proof:
