That is annoying especially since hundreds if not thousands of EVSE locations were added recently. It's getting warmer now and so preheat will be less of an issue - still ideal however but at a regular 50kW EVSE you'd probably draw 49kW up to 80%.

So the battery pre heated up to 30 degrees. No problem drawing 120kW. Any idea what it would draw if it was 20 degrees? Would it still draw 120 kW? Do you only need 30 degrees to draw the full 270kW?

I honestly don't know plus you assume the EVSE would deliver to the max.

Note that had you not pre-conditioned the early phase of charging would have done the same. Chances are you saved 10 mins preconditioning - not a lot in the grand scheme of things. In winter temps < 5C it would be noticeably more beneficial to pre-conditioning to reduce charge time.
