I have a question about all the HPC stations displayed in the PCM? I needed to top up my SoC for a longer trip on roads where charging stations were a bit spare. I could see quite a few close by and choose one at Circle K, stated as 300 kW in the PCM. There were a few more around but varied in speed from 50 kW to 175 kW. I could also see the number of free chargers and total number in each place.

Since they were displayed with details in the PCM, I assumed that they were part of the Porsche Charging Service and that my card would start the charging process??

But NO the Card would not authorised and no charging would take place. Phone call to the Porsche service but they were busy and after waiting for about 10+ minutes I gave up and looked for a Tesla SuC.

So my question is

1. Are the stations that are displayed showing ALL stations where you can charge. Or?
2. Are the stations displayed supposed to be included in the Porsche Charging Service??

If it is the first alternative it would be nice to have a filter setting to exclude that view so the display is not so cluttered with that Info. The display can be so cluttered with chargers, that it is difficult to find an Ionity station that can be used.

In this instance I searched for this charger in the PCM and navigated to it. But I have also experienced the exactly same thing by the car directing me to a Charging stop when using the Charging Planner in the car. And then arriving with 3% and the card is not authorised, raised the blood pressure a bit? And I had set the planner to prioritise the Porsche Charging Services

Has anybody experienced the same issues?
Do we know what is displayed??

In my small sample journey with few chargers the PCM did not show all the chargers I could use on the route and the fastest one wasn't on there so no way to get the car to preheat the battery before I arrived.

I chose the chargers using Zap-map and ABRP then used the PCM to navigate to them but the system didn't know the second was chargers at a cafe, just the cafe, so I got 60kW from a 150kW charger.

Here in the UK not many places use the Porsche charging service, so if only those showed very few journeys would appear as possible on the Porsche satnav!

I agree there will always be a lag between new charging stations becoming available and updates to PCM/charge planner catching up - plus the temptation for Porsche to be selective on which chargers it prefers you to use......

I would have thought a simple & cheap and improvement to the charge-planner/PCM/sat nav - would be to allow the user to manually designate any destination or waypoint as a charger that you plan to use - so that the PCM could initiate battery pre-heating using existing algorithms to sequence and manage the preheat degree - as it does for a 'legitimate' Porsche designated charger now.

I tried using 'find chargers near destination' but its database of chargers is woeful and only offered more distant 50kw stations when I know there were 150kw actually at my destination.

Even easier would be a simple manual 'start-preheat' gadget to allow the driver to initiate preheat using their experience - but I guess that could have warranty implications - and there is an increasing trend not to trust the 'human in the loop' now - so that would be a non-starter.

I agree That in the UK there were not many chargers showing up.

In a recent visit to the U.K. I of course used mostly the Ionity chargers. There was not a very dense network of those, but it was Ok along the route we drove up to Cromer.

BP Pulse outside of Kettering also worked very well. 150 kW only but worked with Porsche Card

I managed to use the Porsche Card also at Osprey near Ipswich. But I think that was only a 400 volt charger since I only got 130 kW??

However I was very impressed with the Gridserve station in Norwich! 22 pcs of 350 kW chargers and a fantastic lounge and cafe. Also a M&S shop with nice snacks etc. would be fantastic to see more of these being rolled out. Easy payment with a normal credit card as well, however expensive!

Shell also had some 175 kW chargers with credit card readers along the old A14!
