Had an update pop up. I’ve been putting it off and I thought I’d done the same thing. But it went through the process this time. It’s now stating “Update Failed. Vehicle functions restricted. See Drivers Manual’

it also talks about warning lights etc. nothing seems amiss, driving is fine and all functions work properly.

I’m handing it back soon, so no way am I faffing about going to a dealer. I’ll call and see what they say. The dealer did mention about an update that’s “there but isn’t” 🤦🏼😂

it’s mainly annoying as it’s popping up every time it’s starting up

anyone else got this?

I have the same issue for several weeks on the J1.2, will go to the dealer this week i don't think it's something that we can solve.

Thanks. I suspected as much, but thought I’d ask on here. I’ll ring tomorrow. 🤦🏼

The feedback from Porsche on Monday after a few hours with it was basically "keep trying the update" and that "it *might* update and then it *might* go away", but they couldn't fix it without potentially keeping it overnight/a few days! 🤦‍♂️ oh and "no Sir, we don't have any loan cars available". I took it home as-was after assurance it wasn't unsafe to drive.

So the car has now been collected by Manheim and thankfully they took it, mainly as I had an email from the Porsche service staff that said it was OK/safe to drive and it was just a PCM update issue. The lady from Manheim was actually really good and pragmatic.

Porsche also should have, but hadn't, stamped the service book either for the 2 year inspection service they did. Maybe I should have checked but I assumed I wouldn't need to! Worth checking! 🤦‍♂️

Basically the service experience has been marred for me with too long wait times for appointments, a severe lack of loan car availability, poor software updates and not good communication from Porsche AG, to the UK
