Hi folks,

When ordering my car - my only timing stipulation was that the car must be an MY23 - ideally for late 22. I was advised it would be Q1 2023 or possibly sooner if there was a cancellation.

My build slot has been brought forward from Q1 in 2023 to Jul 2022 - it's earlier than I really wanted - but OK I can live with it.

I am assured (by the dealer) the car will be MY23 - does that seem correct for a July build?
I thought MY changed in August?

Is there anyway to verify the MY of a Porsche before finally committing to the car? Is it specified in the ordering paintwork?

Also, I am not sure how I well I can finalise the spec of the car in March (I am told that is the correct month to do so for July production) when the MY23 configurator is not published until August. The dealer said the standard kit may change a bit, but the options probably not so much.

Has anyone experience of finalising a spec for a car in one MY, for production in the next? any issues or tips?

Many thanks

Ask you dealer. SA should be able to let you know when the 23MY dates open up.

Edited my post to clarify - it is the dealer who is advising me, he is saying it will be an MY23 - I just have a little nagging doubt (probably me being paranoid).

cheers

I thought July / August for Q3 onwards delivery would ensure the next model year - dealer should know.

Search the forum as we had this discussion a while back.

typically the factory shuts down for about a month starting mid/late July, with the new models beginning production after that break, so I would venture to say that a July '22 build will be a '22 MY.

Ok all clarified - the allocation is July - but the build slot is Q3 (tentatively October for a November delivery) - all is good! (phew)

You were exactly correct Mr W.... - I had misunderstood! I thought they had said - 'July build slot' which I was 99% sure meant MY22

But what they had said (or meant) was a July 'allocation' for a Q3 build and Q4 delivery!
