Hi everyone!

FIrst-time poster and soon-to-be Taycan owner. Debating hard between a:

1. Volcanic grey w/ Chalk Crayon Interior, black trim, Mission E
2. Gentian Blue w/ standard partial black interior, black trim, Mission E.

Both are dealership stock cars. My perfect pick would be Volcanic Grey w/ full black leather Mission E, but wifey and I prefer to have a car soon.

We will have to compromise.

Would love to hear fellow owners' and fans' views on these two specs.

I prefer brighter exterirors, so "none" would be my answer but I voted for #2.... since I'd never buy crayon interior. I believe that's too hard to keep it clean (any kids?).
Otherwise, I believe that #1 looks better than #2 ... so not much of help from me, right?

Soon to be Dad!

Will be another 3-5 years before the little one(s) have enough wrecking power to dirty the seats.

Thanks for your vote!

The standard partial leather interior is just so underwhelming. I prefer dark, black interiors too but the hollow, plastic-like material feels so cheap.

I am visualizing the extra profits made by Porsche and VW group going to good places and feeding hard-working, diligent, passionate employees for generations to come, then the extra price for the craftsmanship is worth it.

Welcome! Have you ruled out the Gentian Blue with the Chalk interior?
(Gentian Blue was my original choice before Frozen Blue, both with Black & Red interior)

It's really just based on what is available at the dealer. (The ones in the poll).

So only two options and we are trying to compromise.

My wife actually doesn't care too much but has made comments about her dad having owned blue cars and would prefer not to own another blue one. She vibes with the volcanic gray the most so far.

If it was really up to me I would go with Carmine Red, black accents, and max carbon fiber.

Volcanic Grey is classic - nice metalic grey. Used to have a Panamera in this colour and liked it very much, it is "smart". Gentian blue changes colour in the sun - from a dark navy to almost purple in bright light. It's more sporty/cool.

So it depends, smart or cool/funky?

That chameleon-like color shift is very intriguing. I've seen the gentian blue many times and every time it's different. Sometimes it's just stunning and other times bland. When it's great, it's spectacular but when it's dull moments are similarly pronounced.

The gray is more consistent across most lighting conditions to me.

Colors are personal. Get the one that moves you. Having seen them both in person, I’d go Gentian. And that’s coming from a guy that loves silver and gray cars. Volcano is the one gray that just doesn’t do it for me.
I'm trying to strike the perfect balance of classy timelessness and sportiness.

I am a bit concerned about the longevity of the Gentian blue (like many are on this forum) and also the amount of Model3 sporting the same color really detracts from the selection. But it's so striking in person and can't help wonder, what if?

My consultation with family and friends think EVERY color looks good, which actually really is the case given how aesthetically pleasing the Taycan shape is.
