Warn and Brake Assist???

Can somebody explain exactly what this system is supposed to do in the USA? I am not a big fan of Porsche saying it "includes the following functions depending on the country" without saying anything about the functions in the country the car is being sold! My daughter's CR-V blinks "BRAKE" when I seemingly am getting close to the car in front of me at a certain speed. I have not seen my Taycan indicate anything is amiss in similar situations. Any idea exactly what this does in the USA?

It does exactly as it says. It warns you and sometimes applies the brakes if it thinks you are going to hit something in front. It has a sensitivity setting.
At medium sensitivity it has given me a false positive warning (but no braking) once in 5 months and also one true positive (my foot was already on the brake pedal but the car applied it too).

I already had at least 4 times were the system was not working for no obvious reason with a warning "WBA unavailable" which self-resolved after restarting the car.

I do not have ACC so mine is the basic version.

I was on the freeway yesterday and traffic slowed suddenly ahead. I was already moving to the brake and there was plenty of room to stop without panic braking however as I was making my move a big red "collision imminent" or something like that appeared in the left hand "tube". FWIW, I do have ACC but it was not engaged at the time.

I have also noticed that if your foot is not on the accelerator the car will reduce speed on it's own as you approach within a certain distance of the vehicle ahead, even if ACC is not engaged, the same as with the e-Tron.

'Maneuver assist' if so equipped will do this for you though - had it happen on only one occasion where I apparently came a wee bit too close to a solid fence whilst reversing down a very narrow driveway. Quite impressive actually, caught me by surprise!
