Many many times I get the thumbs up or better from fellow drivers. Many do not recognize the car, probably because it is a Sport Turismo and not a fastback body. I personally just love the look. The gesture of the car is pure sleek power and Grace. Just my style. (See the photo)

I do’t give a flying fiesta about resale, as I usually keep my cars for 10 years plus. This machine satisfies my needs so well, and the long term prospects are so good, I’m doing my part to bolster resale value by keeping mine off the market! You’re welcome.

I am with you....I have kept my cars for a decade as a rule.
However, now at age 78, I am considering shortening that number.

It’s amazing how no one else has managed to make a truly beautiful electric car. Every other EV looks like a blob, normally due to the big battery underneath making the car tall. Meanwhile the Taycan looks as sleek and muscular as the best designed ICE cars. A real triumph of design.

Absolutely....I am amazed how many people of all ages go out of their way to complement the car, and its' color (Mamba Green Metallic)....and of course, especially boys under the age of 10

I am 73 and seriously considering keeping my Taycan "for ever"...
I was going to keep my Taycan for a long time.
But the low used values have just got me thinking.

I think the market is wrong currently....it may be a buying opportunity.

Nearly everyone on here who owns a Taycan loves it and wouldn't change it. So the low used values don't really make that much sense. It's the economics (tax breaks on new cars only etc) that is skewing things. Prices will likely drop further when the new model is released, with the new one also getting a chunky price rise.

So I may switch for another higher spec used Taycan (which has taken a larger hit) and capitalise on the situation.

I wasnt thinking of changing mine, but it might be a smart financial move soon.

Maybe, I had a look but I have exactly what I want currently except matrix lights, which were unavailable when I fixed the spec, and finding a turbo CT with a spec I liked has so far not happened.
I also don't need the performance of a turbo, I only use full 4S potential infrequently on the country roads around here.

I am perfectly happy with the way I spec'd mine: big battery, tungsten carbide rotors, rear wheel steering, Burmester audio, Sport Chrono, Mamba Green Metallic, etc. Additionally, I know that I have been gentle on my battery. By Keeping it, I don't have to worry about what a previous owner has done to abuse his Taycan.

Exactly what I did. Mine had a new price of £108k I paid £60k 2.5 years later.

I don't quite see how this works. Depreciation is, as we all agree, only effective at the point of selling. Taking a loss to buy a higher spec because its loss was higher is still "realizing depreciation" - you're losing money on both sides of the transaction.

Regarding the perplexing issue of low used values when everyone here is holding on to their cars: I'd say the audience of this forum is primarily enthusiasts/fans of this model, and so probably a minority of the full set of Taycan owners. Everyone else has been passing through (here, or through Taycan ownership) - moved on to the next thing, twitched in the face of depreciation, canceled their plans/orders etc.

I'm with @f1eng again in that matrix headlights are the only thing I wish I hadn't dropped, but I'm going to guess that the lack of barking from this particular marketing dog so far suggests that they still won't be factory-enabled in USA on the MY25s.

I also think that @WasserGKuehlt nailed the selection bias bit. People who register for accounts on forums like this and stay active either really love or really hate the subject matter. There is typically very little in the way of middle ground.

Car bboards have some insular nuttiness, the Porsche ones more than any others I’ve followed in 25 years.

The other day I calculated how many registered users there on this forum. I see 20 users per page, and there are apparently 508 pages when I looked. So roughly 10k people have ever registered on TaycanForum.

So out of the 150k Taycans sold, at most 10k (7%) people ever signed up here, leaving the other 140k owners uninvolved here. (93%) This fact should really be required to accompany any and all of the sweeping pronouncements that regularly are voiced here which supposedly reflect those of most or all Taycan owners.

And anyway its always pretty much the same 40-50 people posting in any case.

My personal favorite threads are the... "this issue happened to my car so that means all Taycans are POS and they all have this same issue".

My 2nd favorite are the ... "I paid XXX amount of money for my car, so it should be perfect and never have a defect" threads.

By no means all the 150k were sold in English speaking countries and many of those either don't read and write English or don't bother with foreign forums.
