Ah thank you. I’m not a dog owner so this has never occurred to me as something I needed but I least I can stop poking my fingers in there imagining why on earth it exists.

I have one but don't use it. It is so solid and heavy I imagine it is mainly to restrain heavy items in the back in the case of an accident.
I haven't used mine because of its weight.

Cargo net - another pointless purchase (on my part) and a shoulder dislocating feat to install - requires a bit of cotorsion kung fu to install. Quite heavy / substantial and no doubt fit for purpose.

Same here, another pointless purchase.
Used it 3 times with the seats folded and the boot full but it’s so annoying to put in place that it’s sitting in a shelf now.
I thought it would be like in Audi included in the boot shelf and connected to the seat so we could easily used it seat up and down but no.
I used it once with the seat up but it’s pointless
