A van reversed into me and dented my front wing. All the car body shops are closed for Christmas but I'm wondering if the whole bumper will need to be replaced or if it can be repaired?

There is a YTuber in the UK who rebuilds wrecked cars for our entertainment (and his enrichment) by the name of Matt Armstrong. It was either during the rebuild of a GT3RS or a Ferrari 458 that he gave the car to some body shop to have it "undented". That body shop was staffed by a team of old geezers who would not replace anything on your car and instead make it all look brand new by the magic of little hammers tapping.

Mind, since your restoration will be paid for by the other side's insurance, you probably won't care if they replaced every last panel.

Wing rather than bumper?

I'm no expert but it may be repairable but would likely need repainting as the existing paint may split if hammered / suckered out.

May be easier to replace and paint entire wing. Let the bodyshop decide.

Sorry, but I see no way you’re going to fix that with PDR (paintless dent repair).

Even if you straighten the dent, the paint will be cracked in the process.

Also hard to tell if the bumper is affected as well and any damage behind the panels.

Assuming an insurance claim, so have them fix it “right.”

Just my two cents, but I don’t think anyone will be able to answer your question about the bumper from this photo. If this was my car, I would take it to my local dealer and have them assess the level of damage on the inside and the outside of the areas affected. Since they are not a body shop, I would expect them to give you a fair assessment so you can determine your course of action going forward. Good luck with this! It could have happened to any of us.

To be exact, that thing across the front is the bumper cover. It is ABS (plastic). Only a small part of that is deformed next to the marker light. It might be possible to heat it and pull it back into place. But of all the parts, a bumper cover relatively easy to remove and replace. What I also see is a dent in what we in the USA call the fender. That is metal, and, as far as I know, is not simply bolted on like the bumper cover. Is it a 2024? You are going to want to have the repair done right then.

Removing anything of the front of a Taycan will likely lead to recalibration of the sensors and camera and therefore more cost.

Personally, I'd just live with it. You'd get used to it in short order.

I’ve sold cars off with less damage than that.

Backed my 997 into the garage door and the resulting scratch was something I couldn’t live with, even if I got it repainted.

Well, first off, it should go through Porsche repair certified centers. And suggest to go through insurance. At that point, i am sure Porsche center will go for new parts.
