As @f1eng alluded (and as I’ve also incessantly posted here), the 911 is what it is because of its weight distribution and resulting dynamics. Can’t get that yet with an EV drivetrain, but you’re right that that time will come.
The 911 is also a lot about marketing. They just need time to make a good story around it.
Maybe they will put a big part of the battery pack in the back of the car and say that it gives the same driving dynamics as the 911 ice.
Maybe they will use some uber-expensive materials to keep the total weight down.

As time goes by also the buyers will change. In 10 to 15 years, you have a new generation of young buyers who will not care about exhaust pipes.
We always overestimate what can change in 1 year and underestimate what can change in 10 years. In the end people adapt.

Maybe they'll just call the EV version of 911 something else - problem solved and promise kept:)

They may well make a bigger more expensive sports car along with a smaller one.
They will certainly use 911-esque styling, as they have ever since the 928 was less successful than they expected, but the original 911 ethos is long gone just the styling cues remain

IMHO of course.

I was at my dealer getting my transmission fault looked into today.

These two were for sale. The “real” on is on the left ;)
