Windshield damage coverage

Wanted to check if anyone had experience with this.
I had the windshield get damaged by a rock and resulting in a crack about 7 inches long. Long story short, have to get the windshield replaced on my 2023 taycan GTS. When I purchased the car I did get the easycare select plus upgrade but it looks like that only covers small cracks up to 2 inches. I went through my insurance glass program (via all state Safelite) and they have a small deductible and will quote a price out based on the type of car. I got a quote for $3800 from the dealership. Would there be any coverage with the insurance company as well?

on an off note, depending on the outcome of this I would probably want to get full coverage for glass repair/replacement in the future and curious if any of you have recommendations. Thanks my fellow Taycan lovers!

I live in California and have The Hartford for my auto insurance. I recently added glass coverage to all 3 of my vehicles just in case I break or chip any of the glass no my Taycan. I did this because I was told on this forum that Safelite windshields don’t work well with the safety features of the Taycan and Safelite doesn’t/can’t replace the panoramic roof glass so it appears only a Porsche dealer can do these repairs and want wanted to make sure I’m covered. I hope I never have to find out…

For future consideration, some of us had windshield protective film installed (e.g. Stek Dynoflex) that has prevented all glass chips.
