You get used to a bigger vehicle very quickly. If width is affected by road, or parking size though, that is a different issue, and I would think that the number of Taycan owners in the UK should assuage your fears.
The Uk roads and parking spaces are extremely narrow compared to the US though.
It is the same width as a Range Rover and there are loads of them around here but I am still concerned by the width, and if going to the supermarket take a narrower car.
The local Waitrose car park bays are too narrow to be sure to open the door wide enough to get in or out.

Argh I’ve been having such a dilemma with mine. I cancelled my order because I was absolutely paranoid about the size of it, every road I use around my house is really narrow and then the places I park are tiny too. I decided to go for a 911 but then I have two kids and I occasionally need to do the school run with them. So I reversed decision AGAIN and the dealer said my slot had gone but offered me a cancelled sport turismo, available next week…. I just have no idea what to do! I’ve never been so indecisive in my life, it’s ridiculous. I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice decision to make, but I keep going backwards and forwards and now nobody in my life will even entertain talking to me about it! ?
The roads are super narrow around here too but doable.
OTOH the local Waitrose car park bays are too narrow to be sure to open the door wide enough to get in and out of a Taycan, I usually walk, or take a smaller car if I have to go for something bulky.

Depending on where you are driving in the US, although usually you are correct and the roads are wider. For some reason, around Austin, TX the parking spaces are tiny, when I had my Mazda3 it barely fit with room to open doors. I currently live off a very windy, rural road with no shoulders, one which the way too prevalent full size trucks don't quite fit in a single lane. I tend to find that roads are much narrower on the east coast and in older cities in the US midwest. I do wonder, are there vehicle width restrictions on any of the UK roads? Sorry, never been over to the UK or EU.

There are width restrictions and weight restrictions on many country roads, but local farmers, of course, have to use them anyway and they are often the biggest thing you come across.
I have spent a lot of time in the US since 1970, when i did a student exchange, both old and new parts but most roads are wider there than here.

My uncles all farmed after serving in WWII and as occupation troops in Berlin in the 50’s, so very used to large farm equipment on small roads. Is there any type of push to widen roads in the UK, especially since SUV popularity is gaining there?

No, it isn’t practical for most country roads and motorways are adequate.

Personally I would favour banning SUVs instead ;)

I am very happy to be getting back into a smaller vehicle. Pick up my Mamba Green CT 4S tomorrow.

Sweet! I live in SW Austin and have a Mamba CT4. What part of town are you in? We should meet up at a Porsche club event and park the “almost twins” next to each other. My wife and I will be at the Espressos and Exotics event coming up in March.

YES. would love to. :)) but alas you are far from local and I haven't booked my date yet xx maybe a massive female Taycan convoy is in order, and we can drag race the men ( sounding like a teenager now !!!) xxx
Oh yes - I meant nearer Silverstone... I am well aware I am in the frozen north ... although there are surely a few of us up here, just flying (driving) under the radar! I too was wary of the size of the Taycan but rarely in town and only park at empty times at the supermarket as my work life means I keep very antisocial hours. I am more looking forward to the handling on the glen roads than parking in the NCP in Glasgow Montrose Street (if you know, you know) although with RAS I should be able to "park on a dime" (as our American friends would say)

Scottish roads are perfect for the Taycan!

My brother was golf Pro at Blairgowrie for many years, recently retired, and the best driving fun I have is in Scotland (my wife is from Cullen)

Everything is a matter of habit. I've driven everything. From a Fiat 45s to a Nissan navara pickup without any parking sensors.

Is it overwhelming? Yeah. For the first couple of weeks but then you'll adjust.

It's like passing by those tiny smart worthy parking spots and ignoring them. Soon you'll you'll have a precise idea where your taycan will fit and just ignore anything too small or too narrow.

I am up in the Northwest Hills, technically Leander but we are in Travis County. Where is the Espresso and Exotics? I have been meaning to join the PCA, should probably do that since 2 vehicles are now Porsches.

It’s being held at the Arboretum next to Porsche Austin (North). Feel free to DM me if you want more info about. It’s open to anyone who wants to show up. My Taycan will be “on display”.
