So, I took my Taycan in for the two year service, to address a few recall compaigns, and to have both of my rear summer tires replaced for a cut on one (under a road Hazzard warranty). They are also swapping out my summers for winters at the same time. I had no issues with the car apart from that cut on the summer tire, but glad to get everything addressed.
The nice service tech, Sergey, has offered to deliver the car to me so that I don’t have to cross any bridges (local joke about how DC residents never want to go to suburbs).
Now, I would never agree to that for my 911 with a manual transmission (even though the techs drive them for testing). I mean, I don’t want any hidden type II overrevs or clutch/transmission abuse that come back to haunt later.
But I’m seriously tempted to let him bring the Taycan as there is not much to break (yeah, I know there could be a wreck but that could always happen and it would be their insurance). It would be super convenient. What could they really abuse that wouldn’t be apparent, even if driving hard?
What would you do?
