You ever get that feeling that one day, be it 1 year, 10 years or 25 years from now, when you go to sell your Taycan the new owner will point-out some feature or cool detail that you never noticed?????

Granted, I probably have ADD but I've spent time going through the PCM and manual and yet, particularly due to this forum, I continue to find, learn and discover more details and features about this car every week. It's going to be a learning curve that never ends and when that day comes that I part with it, I bet some kid will jump in and activate the hover mode, detect-a-cop or seat massage feature that I never knew existed!

My apologies for the deliberately vague title of the thread

No, because in a year, the buyers for that market will have already know because they are used to new tech. In 10 years tech would have gotten much further that this will seem old. Also the same reason I don’t see electric cars the same as ICE. ICE will have a retro charm but electric cars will just be straight up obsolete when new tech improves. Another thing to note is that the battery, which is the most expensive part of the car, is a consumable.

This happened to me on my Panamera. I was doing an exit wash (final clean) on it late November to get it ready to sell/trade. After 3 years, I noticed that in the trunk, there was an electronic release on both sides that allows the rear seats to fold down. I could not believe I hadn’t noticed it before. I was actually a little disappointed given that the manual releases in the back seats aren’t the easiest to use. From that experience, I made it a point to learn (and use) more of the features of my next car. You are not alone on this one.

I agree that tech will continue to advance so quickly that our Taycan will seem like relics in just several short years. I’m not convinced they’ll be obsolete.

If we’re comparing our cars to computers, maybe thinking of them as obsolete applies. I tend to think of these cars as the like first iPod. In 20 years, the craftsmanship and technology will still be usable. I don’t expect any updates… but ideally still usable (and we'll still find features we didn’t know existed! ?).

Beg to differ.....

It'll always be a vehicle with a motor and battery, newer/better batteries can be installed, software can be updated/upgraded. Sure, it may not have hover-mode or other high tech features come along but it'll always be a Porsche so there's that. Beyond that, we buy these cars as transportation and fun vehicles....not investments. I've always kept my cars for years and even decades but when the next cool/awesome thing comes along that appeals more than this Taycan...see ya!
