Hi Folks, I have an issue with my Taycan RWD charging at home. The car is not charging at home with Porsche Charge Connect ( not the mobile charge connect plus ). It has been working fine for last 2 weeks but suddenly stopped working.

The charging profile/screen shows that it is initializing, then charging but the status shows 0.00mi/kw and then it goes back to initializing and then charging again and does the same thing, it does that for 15 to 20minutes and then goes gray. No errors.

Everything thing seems normal, and green, the charging unit, the light on the port etc.

I can charge it fine at EA stations with high power charger ( the low power ones do not work, same issue ).

Any thoughts? ideas?

I will take it to dealer on Tuesday but thought I should check here to see if anyone had similar issue?

Thank you

If AC charging isn't working anywhere, I'd take it in. Might be a problem with the onboard charger.

Thanks, DerekS.

Seems too early to encounter that kind of issue but I was anticipating some... :)

Love the car so far!

Do you have access to another L2 charger via a neighbor, a friend, or public charger nearby? If so, this could help you narrow down whether it's your car or your charger (or it's supply connections).

do you have another charger to check the car with - that will be helpful - if you have both a PMCC and a PMC+ - if one works and the other doesn’t then it’s the external charger and not the car - have you cycled the circuit breaker on the EV charger?

This happened to me. See my attachment from the dealer's service department. See my thread "Novel charging problem". Not novel anymore. You are the third person to describe this problem.

Yes for some reason I cannot attach the dealer service explanation statement.

It was a faulty "MVW2" valve. They ordered the part form Germany, replaced it and now everything is fine. The valve apparently opens when the onboard AC charger heats up to cool the charger. When the charger gets too hot it just turns off the charging process.

Doesnt look liike a long term solution, the ac charger can heat up again and valve can go out again...oh man. Lets hope they come up with a bettef solution.

How long ago they fixed that for you?

July 27.
This happened after I had the car for about a month.
No charging problems since they fixed it.
They said the clue that helped them was the fact that it charged well on DC fast chargers, but not on my home charger.

Update - charging issue resolved by replacing the AC charging unit. It took 3 weeks in total. I week for them to keep the car and diagnostic ( seems long ) and then 2 weeks to get the part and replace it.

I took the car back after the diagnostics.
