Something is wrong with my Porsche Crest hood emblem. It looks like clearcote coming off on sides and above. One can feel it with the finger tip, and thin peace as of cote is now peeling. The workshop claims it is not possible, cause the crest is not made with any coating at all, just enamel. So I wanted to check that further and googled it, then found a few others have encountered the same thing. Here is one of the links: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-958-2011-2018/1190688-my-hood-emblem-is-peeling.html
I have always kept my cars super clean both inside and outside, and of old habit especially when leaving for repair or service, as it is easy to discover any scratches, bumps or damage. I always take footage and video on site right before delivery, so I may prove if anything happens (by the way I advice everyone else to do so as well, just in case). And, since I knew my vehicle was tip top shape from before, I took a closer look when picking up.
My hood and front bumper now had several ugly marks, looking like stone chips, which provable was not there when I delivered. I do have PPF so the original paint is not damaged luckily, but still I have the replace the PPF which is an expense to me . . . which it shouldn’t really. At this point I have a peeling Porsche Crest hood emblem, which to me is the “diamond” of the vehicle, and several stone chips on my rather new PPF which no longer looks good.
Any way, back to my issue mentioned above: Have anyone else noticed similar peeling on your hood emblem as I have, or is this a very rare thing? Hopefully it is!
