Hey all,
I am looking at getting carbon fiber mirror caps for my taycan and wondering if it’s safe and easy to pry off the mirror cap/housing and popping the carbon fiber ones on?

I know they come off but don’t wanna do it incorrectly and break something lol.

Thanks

I was looking into doing the same. Where are you getting your carbon fiber mirror caps? I was also wondering how easy it would be to remove the existing ones. Thanks.

I was gonna order these

https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/skutaycfmirror.html

From what I’m reading it’s easy to pop off. I’ve actually done it once (unintentionally ??????) and just popped it back in.

I read that it may mess up the lane change assist feature but once I popped it back in it was fine. Idk why that would mess up anything when it’s just a piece of plastic covering the mirror?

Wanted to revive this thread. OP, did you end up getting these carbon fiber mirror caps installed? Did the dealer do it?

Also I am curious if the OEM part from Sun Coast also includes the lower housing cover. I the description says it can be painted gloss black but if you don’t paint it, what does it look like?

Hey! Yep did go through with it. Looks fire,

I had dealer do it when i went for the daily recalls this car has ??????

You can paint the bottom part gloss black but I think the standard black that mine was already looked fine.

If your bottom is like white or a color matching the exterior of your car may want to reconsider or paint it.
