Hi,
Hopefully this is the right forum - I've got 4k km on my Taycan 4S. The first drive of the day always has a 3-10 minute delay until the car transitions from friction brakes to recouperation/regen. When I look at the dash, the recoup capability is there - its like something needs to warm up (the brakes?). This is different from when you charge to 100% for a trip and the recoup bar is really small.

This is a very different behaviour than my old Tesla. There, it just needed a warm battery. I couldnt find any posts on this topic. Reason I care is efficiency in the winter. This behaviour existed in the summer as well.

Thanks

Perfectly normal. The first few stops are brakes only to polish the rotors.

And probably to ensure they get some wear for that tasty service revenue!

I see the same.
Which regen mode are you in? Auto or On? I normally set 'On' when I get in the car (it would be nice if regen mode would be part of the driver profile) but I don't see much green on the display for some number of minutes after I start driving.

this is the so called brake refresh function to have the brakes in perfect condition every day

Thanks all - now that I understand this, I have gotten in the habit of braking harder first few times. That helps get the regen to start sooner and help the overall efficiency (which matters when its -20c outside!!)

It's never efficient to brake harder than necessary though ?
