I happened to be browsing the GTS in the US configurator and see that the Charging Dock/Cabinet is no longer listed as an option for any US new builds under E-Mobility like it used to be. Does anybody know if that is supply chain related or is there another reason?

I have one installed in my garage and have been happy with it but have read about issues of overheating with the PMCC. While mine gets hot inside the cabinet when charging I haven’t run into any issues in the northeast (but haven’t had my car in the height of summer yet).

Edit: I see it is still available in the UK configurator so this appears to be a US thing. Strange.

Wonder if it’s because they now have the Wall Connect unit! I noticed this too - if the charger is mainly going to be docked - seems like the better deal anyway.

Yeah, I think it may have been dropped because the new 19.2 kW Porsche Wall Charger comes with the dock (housing) so it’s a package deal now. I have a new dock that I originally ordered with my car, however since I upgraded to the new wall charger, I don’t need it and will prob list it for sale.

Not sure that's correct. Dock is missing on US configurator for sure but the PMCC doesn't come with anything extra and the image shown is the same as before. Only option now is the basic mount or the pedestal.

The dock was ordered extra for $470 to pair with the PMCC. Attached is my original build sheet from last July. But in August, the newest 19.2 kW wall charger was released for sale in the US and this version comes with the dock (all black now vs the old two-tone black and silver cabinet). I know because I’ve got two of them.. Interestingly, Suncoast is now selling the old two-tone dock (cabinet) for $800+

Yes I understand (I have the same PMCC with the dock which was extra) but when I looked on the US configurator this morning there is no mention of anything extra in terms of a bundled dock that I can see. Only curious as the same is likely to happen in UK at some point.

Currently the UK configurator lists 2 PMCC options (dock or pedestal) both the same price. The pedestal is listed separately and at additional cost. It is rather confusing but given the price hike it may include the dock but the description doesn't make it clear.

I think what @porscheguy means is that if you want a dock just buy the PWCC and you get it bundled together - EVSE and dock. There is no need to buy the PMCC plus the dock anymore. Then you would also get the PMC+ that comes with the car along with the PWCC for basically the same price that you used to spend for just the PMCC plus the dock (without a PMC+). While that is all true I guess people that still want the ability to travel with the PMCC and still have a dock need to order both the PMCC and the PWCC (or the PMCC and the dock from a third party). For people that already have a NEMA 14-50 outlet installed the PWCC is a more labor intensive install than the PMCC plus dock given that the PWCC needs to be hardwired. I just think it’s strange and anti-Porsche to not allow customers the choice of picking what is arguably a “worse deal,” particularly when they don’t offer the PWCC on the configurator. That’s why I wonder if it is either supply chain related where they can only get so many docks and they need to use those parts for the PWCC now or some other reason (other than Porsche not wanting us to make an “unnecessary” choice).

I realise that but the description on the US configurator doesn't mention the dock is included with the PMCC - that's my point.

On the UK configurator there are 3 identically priced options for PMCC which doesn't help either.

Ah now I get it!

That's new indeed but basically a PMCC complete with dock in a slightly different colour.

Only Porsche could rebrand in this way!
