I hope invoicing does happen today but I’m not so sure, from the dealers point of view, it will happen today We’ll have to wait to see.

For that to happen the gears that make up the business process have to mesh perfectly… I really doubt that it is a fully automated computer process that lets the dealer know he has been invoiced. Not that I am cynical but my view is that business processes happen in only one of two ways, quickly or correctly.

You might think that the dealer/SA’s self interest would push them to get all these cars sold before end of year. That might not be the case… if the dealer/SA has already sold enough cars to keep Porsche NA/Dealer off his back he might prefer to push these sales into next month. I don’t know if SA’s are on a draw, but if they are and have already made it, it would be in their best interest to push the sale off to next month.

So what I’m saying is if it is really important to you to be invoiced today you will have to be aggresively pro-active. Just occasionally checking with your SA might not be enough. They get busy and with the best of intentions can miss getting that last piece of paperwork done…. Maybe the finance manager goes home early to get ready of a New Year’s eve party. Your car my be invoiced but then there is not one there who can process it.

So sitting in the dealers customer lounge drinking their coffee and eating their donuts might not be a bad idea, though you will feel like a dork for doing that.

I don't have a time yet. I'm super flexible. I am actually on paternity leave, just had my first kid (daughter) so I've been out since around start of November. I go back on 1/17 so I would love to have two solid weeks with the Taycan before I return to the grind...

Some time in the mid to late afternoon is probably best to give them time to get invoiced...
That’s awesome! Congrats on your new arrival, Prit!

They do have incentive to get the sales numbers for this year... I think they will try their best

Just got a text from my SA. THE CAR HAS ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP! I’m heading over there by noon to sign. Happy Friday!:clap::D
Congrats! That was quick! Can they do pickup/delivery today?

I’m having them do the PPF and ceramic so they’ll be keeping it for a few days. But I totally didn’t expect to see it when I went today. Bonus!

My SA just called and said no updates yet. He said they were told it won’t happen today. Given the “Baltimore Sample Data”, I think we have a good shot so I’m still hopeful.

They’re closed tomorrow for the holiday and every Sunday, so next shot won’t be till Monday.

If the car transporter leaves soon there still is time for it to get to your dealer before closing. My guess is that FYD, and the dealer software, will move to “Enroute to Dealer” long after the truck actually leaves the port, so it won’t be a good indicator as to whether your car arrives today.

One of the things that is still a mystery is how you can “buy”, which means get a bill of sale, for a car which is still on the car transporter? Once you get a bill of sale you own the car. If the transporter drives off a cliff you own the wreckage and I’m pretty sure your insurance would balk at paying that claim.

I guess the risk is small but it doesn’t make sense to me that you can buy a car that hasn’t actually been delivered to the dealer.

BTW, my dealer is open on Sunday. You really really should move to Florida

I’m from California, now living in Atlanta and I never understood why the Porsche dealerships are closed in Sundays….

I'm driving past Hennessy right now. But won't be able to stop in. My SA hasn't yet told me current status. Will swing by later if it's a go.
