Indeed, waiting time was quite ok, but now porsche will deliver first some ST and a bit less CT. But there are a lot of stock cars at the dealers.

Hi,
I am from Belgium too. Mamba green Taycan.

I travelled with a Tesla and never had charging issues. But with a Taycan it will be less easy. I will try that next summer.

The main problem I see currently for us is the lack of fast chargers if we travel south.
There are plenty of fast chargers in the Netherlands, Flanders, Germany, Scandinavia, Austria, Switserland,...
But once you go south: Wallonia, France, Spain,... it gets more difficult.
Looks like fast charging is a germanic and scandinavian thing. Not yet known in the latin part of europe :)

Going trough wallonia and north of France to the south (nancy) you have Tesla chargers in Arlon, Metz, Nancy,... Easily up to 50 chargers.
Non-tesla's have only Metz: 4 ionity chargers ! For all other brands combined. (and some charger in luxembourg and on the E411, but very very limited)
The result is: queues almost every day.

If I remember well there was a British forum member also complaining about this.

It is really ridiculous that Tesla can put 50 chargers in that region and VW/Audi/Skoda/Porsch/Ford/Huyndai/... can only put 4 !

I hope FastNed will start to expand more south. Ionity is expanding way too slow.

Yes, the situation is not great in the south of the country and Europe ...
Ionity Wellin is a nice addition and a few Ionity are being built in the North of France. So there is hope ...

I was planning my trip to Switzerland Italy and Austria this summer with ABRP. And indeed only 2 or 3 chargers between Wellin and Basel and almost always occupied. When traveling through Germany a high speed charger is available on almost every highway gas station. Would be really challenging to take the route over Metz - Strasbourg - Basel during busy weekends in the summer. I will travel through Germany.

Actually very few chargers between Brussels and Basel. I don’t know if the Porsche Charger in Luxemburg is accessible 24/7. The E411 and north east of France could use some extra fast chargers.

Hi welcome.
it’s true what you say about ths south, but this is a politic problem. Because in flanders we have subsidies. Our company has installed this week 3 ultra fast chargers up to 350 kw in moucron and 32 x 22 kw.
we are going to install in Durbuy, heure and Dinant too. So we are getting there. Those are paid by private people at their company or on a field. Not by fastned, allego, but by Powerland and with local people and investors that need to do this for there own employees and put it public then. Win win.
so the mis in the south is due to subsidies and rules.

LAST SUMMER I found that charging at HPC was difficult in south east Belgium, northern France and in particular the north east of France. France is not at all as developed in this regard as Germany, but Ionity together with some Allego chargers has improved the possibility for easy travel with an EV.

Maybe as stated here it is a question of subsidies or perhaps lacking infrastructure to provide so high power at many places???

It is good to hear about private companies that can put in fast chargers quickly. It puts the likes of the marionettes at Ionity to shame. I have never seen a company miss so many targets with such a huge margin before. It must take a special effort to achieve this.

I only hope that Powerland and other private operators will get an agreement with mobility service providers, like Porsche Charging services, so we easily can charge at these stations. It feels so backwards for me that we should need to carry several dozens of subscriptions, tags, apps etc when we all carry a credit card.

Metz has been the busiest IONITY charging place I think I've ever been too. It needs 12 charging stations there at least!

The "queuing" order there is a bit unclear and stressful too. Just the way its laid out around normal car parking spots.

This is really a bottleneck. When driving from the centre of Belgium to Austria, Italy or Switzerland over France it is a needed charge stop. And the peage isn’t free either. Same for Wellin. Ok ABRP the 4 positions are always occupied. Would be better to avoid this part of France and Belgium with an EV. Traveling over Germany is a bit longer but one queu at a charger will compensate.

Do you know where Ionity is adding chargers there ? Is in on the route Brussels-Nancy ?

Somebody mentioned new chargers in Dinant and Durbuy, but that is not really on the 'route du soleil' (amsterdam-brussels-luxembourg-lyon)

You can follow the Ionity roll out from this website quite well. Very useful for route planning.

I see a great business opportunity for you. A fast charger in Arlon, Thionville, St. Avold and Colmar. Preferably close to or on highway parkings. This is a real blind spot between the west part of Belgium and Holland traveling to Italy, Switzerland and Austria over Brussels.
