@bsclywilly Do you have pictures of the insides of the arches to show the structure and alignment pins? I wrapped my arches when I wrapped the car to match as no one had done what you did here yet to know what was underneath. I don’t have the ORDP and am curious what else would be exposed as far as holes go in addition to the 1 you had to get plugs for.

I think it looks good like this. Without ORDP you will have a mismatch where the arches go in to the bumper and the black plastic on the sides. I also prefer the look with painted (wrapped) arches. And that is my personal taste and how I will do my car. Doesn’t say anything about the great job OP did. Not all CT’s have to look the same.

Great job! This is actually making me consider gentian blue now as I didn’t like the contrast with the plastic arches.
I didn’t think you could wrap textured plastic?

@Dan1210 it wasn’t easy and I had to use lots of adhesive promoter on the edges. We shall see how well it holds up long term.
Keep in mind I wrapped the whole car to match. If you are wanting a particular paint color, finding a matching vinyl will be near impossible. If you don’t like the arches in black plastic (as I don’t), I recommend one of the following:
  • Wrap the whole car including the arches like I did
  • Remove the arches like the OP did
  • Buy the gloss black ones from the Turbo S CT and paint them
  • Have a body shop remove, sand, and paint the arches to match the body (there is another thread about this somewhere)

Also, is that Porsche's MTB rack, or if it's aftermarket, how is it connected?

If you're planning on removing the arches from a non-ORDP, pull the fender liner first and check if there are more pins or holes hiding behind the ORDP wings. I didn't pull the wings off so there could be something else going on there.

This guy on FB posted his painted ORDP wings and arches before reinstalling them. It seems the ORDP wings have additional alignment holes and I don't know what to make of the square cutout.

When removing the cladding on the cars WITH ORDP, do you need to pull aside or remove the wheel well liners to remove little washer nuts holding pins?

If you don’t want the pins snapping off, yes, you should pull the liners.

That looks perfect. I’m really excited for the arrival of the car so that I can get started. I’ve already started by building the suspension links and painting the plugs. Thank you for being such a helpful test case.

Wanted to update this thread. I recently grabbed a CT4 off the lot that was nicely optioned, and includes the park assist/3d surround camera, which means there is another sensor on the front arch. Annoyingly its not just a small hole, a very large section of the front bumper is cut out to make way for a bracket to be glued to the back of the arch piece itself.

Glad I checked a bunch before starting to rip off all the other pieces. :whew:

So if you have that extra sensor, THIS MODIFICATION WILL NOT WORK

This is great modification after purchase. I gave up CT after finding plastic arches (even moving). Porsche should allow customer select arch design. Plastic arch looks really ugly.

I was revisiting this thread as I am always interested in considering changes to my car and was wondering if a higher end solution might not be possible in respect "filling' these alignment holes (as expensive/labour intensive as that might be).

But before that I am getting rather confused as to what holes are present on each model - do we know for sure/have a set of pics that show what holes are left on a standard CT with arches removed WITHOUT the ORDP factory spec'd?

Also I assume that even then you'd still have to deal with the fact that the side sills and front/rear bumpers/valances are still designed to be flush with the plastic wheel arches and thus would be left with additional hole slots or 'ledges' sticking out from the body after you remove the arches - correct? Modifying these, albeit doable, would be a big expense and equally if you had to replace with GTS equivalent parts or whatever.

This last point being the real deal breaker for me i.e. if you can't stand the look of the ORDP, which TBH is just not for me, then painted arches make the most sense.

@ciaranob , do you have surround view option? If so I wouldn’t bother. A few posts up someone pointed out that there’s a gaping hole in the front bumper where the extra PDC sensor is.

If you don’t have surround view then you’ll have 4 holes on each side of the car. One in the front bumper, 2 behind the front wheel, and one in the rear bumper. There was a person with a white CT out of Asia that posted a pic of their car while the arches were out getting painted a year or so ago. Cannot find it after a few minutes search though. If I recall, the “ledges” did not seem to be as big of a concern as I had originally thought and were quite subtle imo.

Filling the holes and respraying I can’t imagine being worthwhile, but to each their own.
