The way I optioned my car will allow me to get the HUD and Passenger Display for $700. What do you all think? Spend it or save it for something else? Seems like the PD is really more of a distraction than anything. Let me know

I went the same path - $700 to get hud and passenger because I got the package that got me remote park and cc.

I really like the HUD; plus I like the way it changes the dash. Passenger display looks cool; not had a passenger in the car enough yet to get their perspective.

but I would do it again just for hud having now used it.

I’ve got the HUD, but no Passenger Display. Frankly, the HUD is overpriced and does not offer much informational value that isn’t readily available within your eyeline. As I stated in another thread about the HUD, it’s most significant value to me is using it to target my entry into my all too tight garage.

I personally hate both the HUD and PD. One of the few options I regret. I also got them as part of the Tech package as I thought I wanted the HUD anyway. I come from BMW and their HUD has been absolutely great.

I find the Porsche HUD very poorly implemented, very distraction yet at the same time barely visible when I want to see something.

PD has been virtually unused apart from showing a few passengers. They all lost interested after a few minutes. TBH, looking constantly at a screen in the car makes me motion sick so I don't blame them.

Had the car for a bit only. I got them similar to you as part of a package. I wouldn’t pay full price but for less than 1k combined they are fine.

HUD - Never had one before, information is redundant to the main display but I like not looking down much. I haven’t tried with sunglasses.

Passenger display- got it since have kids and they like to play DJ in the car. As someone said it completes the look and you pay $ for every other material upgrade, Porsche could put CF there and make that an option for a similar price.

Being discussed dozen of times... some (of us) liked PD or HUD only... others both of them or even - none.
My opinion: I don't need HUD (and it's nothing special for a such car), but I took PD. It's useful for passenger and it completes the look.... with more fingerprints on the screen as well
And I'd do the same if I'd order another taycan.

Both the HUD and PD are inherently redundant since they don't provide anything that isn't already available in the main display or dash.

They aren't however bad in any way; they are what they are and work reasonably well. The HUD while not as advanced as some other AR-like implementations, shows you pretty much all you need while still keeping you eyes on the road.

Same with the passenger display. It looks cool and lets the passenger control things like audio and navigation without having to disturb the driver. It works, but feels more like a gimmick than anything else and it doesn't work with CarPlay.

I would argue that these are some of the least important options available. Only spec them if you can't think of anything else you would rather have within you budget.

I specced the PD and would order it again. I use it daily as "media-information display" while driving.
HUD is a no-go for me. I hate the looks and the integration. To me it has no benefit. It just destroys the beautiful design of the dashboard and the curved instrument cluster.

Sir. Any chance you can send a pic of the dash? Thank you in advance

I have a panamera loaner with the HUD, it isn't bad. it gives me the speed limit signage and my speed. if you don't mind paying for it why not?
