I kerbed one of my wheels a couple of weeks back.
It happens on narrow UK roads.

I try not to let it bother me too much now (difficult!) and just get it repaired asap

Good attitude, it’s just going to happen sadly, especially if the car will be only vehicle as mine will be (and dammit with my offering to the finance gods I’m damn well driving it everywhere…hmmm ok not central London….). One of the reasons not getting dedicated wheels for winter tyres, will just get tyres swapped over. Worst comes to worst at end of PCP and wear is deemed unacceptable, then take the hit on one set rather than two ?.

Has to be released through customs etc so could be up to 10 days but you dealer will be able to advise got mine on the 1st march so I know how you feel Christmas all again you will love it

How long has it taken others for their car to be transported to the showroom after it arrived in the UK? I was told mine had arrived in UK on 2nd but still don't have a date for when it'll be transported to the dealership.

Mine was confirmed at Grimsby 25rd Feb. My schedule said that it would leave the port by end of the week ending 4th March. Actually arrived at showroom Fri night or Sat morning 4/5 March.
I am due to collect the car this Friday. All timings were in line with the predictions on the dealers printout from their Sales & Management system which lists expected dates with a week end date of Friday throughout.

Aside from my question re parking aid options, have you considered locking yourself away for two days and spending the time looking at pics of Putin as punishment (with only water / no food)?
I'm just trying to be helpful

I do Bazza. It works well - especially the side views.

But this happened turning left out of a junction..... when some tool coming down the road wasn't concentrating and caused me to suddenly turn sharper left to miss them - but just catching the rear left wheel on the corner kerb.

It could take months.
And now that LADA are impacted too, my contingency plan is ruined.

You should be able to get a recent second hand LADA! The fact that the driving experience of a Porsche and a LADA are almost identical means you won’t be disappointed?

Might want to pause and reflect before pulling the trigger. What residuals in 2yrs? Does it have the right spec (rear wiper, larger drum brakes, rear headrests, power brakes…) and in the right colour (maroon is an all time favorite)?

Lets just think of the families now in Ukraine and pinch ourselves that we are so lucky at present instead of just thinking of delays sorry but bloody hell I watched the hospitals being bombed then felt so guilty just my personal opinions

We could all feel guilty that every minute we spend on the this forum is a minute that we aren't helping Ukraine. My bigger guilt is that the collective free world military forces aren't engaged at least to the extent of motoring up to the Russian front line. Yes I understand the implications and risks but the world right now is like a room full of people witnessing someone being attacked by a knife-wielding maniac, and responding by telling the attacker that the'yll make sure they can't buy another knife.

Clearly it’s absolutely devastating to see so much - totally unnecessary - suffering. Hence why I’d rather laugh about Ladas and delays, of course not minimising this war.

12 months for UK orders of Cross Turismo 4S was par for the course when I ordered mine in October (I since jumped at the opportunity to get a Turbo sooner). Many dealers had demand far outstripping their likely allocation, but some (smaller?) dealers had less demand so have been able to deliver sooner.
Maybe the fast turn around of those US deliveries is due to those factors?

Yeah, I ordered mine about then and was told early Q2, and now the date is showing end of Q2. So it must be different in different places of the UK, 6 months is a massive difference compared to 12 months mind!

I doubt my date (or anyone else's) will stick, as it depends what happens with these harnesses in Ukraine though, I suppose. The war is far, far more important than my wiring loom though.

I imagine all the car makers with suppliers over there are looking at alternate suppliers now, as they're likely not wanting to risk their profits on further future issues, sad as that is, and they certainly won't want to be making things in Russia, and associating with that, if they take over.
